My accommodation is very near so as a fan of Vietnamese 🇻🇳 food I was glad to have what looks like a family owned local eatery that has been around for 10 years.
Alas, the experience fell short of my expectations.
The ambience is, well, to put it kindly - underwhelming.
Almost everything is pre-cooked and heated in the microwave.
A couple ordered two pho soups and they received them piping hot in less than 3 minutes.
I asked for bottled water (I am a fluent English speaker and everyone who can speak can understand my English) and I was given a soft drink.
I asked for vegetarian summer rolls and was given deep fried spring rolls with an empty filling.
Being deep fried they are particularly oily and they taste of exactly what they are made of ; batter fried in oil.
They are not expensive (1,200 HUF) but I honestly wouldn't eat them again if they were even offered for free.
The lemon grass chicken with "vegetables" and rice did have lemon grass and the vegetables were only cabbage and carrot which is fine because I like them both but as it is summer it would be nice to have another vegetable.
Unfortunately, the amount of chicken did not justify the 3,000 HUF price tag of the dish especially considering it was pre cooked and heated in...
Read moreIt used to be a decent place. However, in the past two years the quality of food deteriorated massively. Just few examples, they have decreased the amount of meat and vegetables in the Phos, the crispy duck is stale and fried to dead, the bahn mi is absolutely awful (old bread stuffed with questionable ingredients) and not resembling at all to what bahn mi is, etc. Furthermore, if you order food for take out, they will charge you in a very “interesting” way for the various boxes + if you order two portions of a same dish, they will pack you sauce like you ordered one. Hence, choosing another Vietnamese restaurant would...
Read moreIt is a small place, 15-20 people max. You will not find a free table during lunchtime, and it is understandable, since the food is VERY good, big portion, and not expensive. Big pho soup is around 1400Ft, fried noodles with meat is about 1800Ft. Lots of different types of dishes, al of them delicious, worth trying! The staff is kind, they don't speak hungarian (this is a plus 😉). The only negative is that they don't accept...
