Such a beautiful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed so kindly and told about their Diwali special menu. I’d been craving dosa and vada, so I went for those, while my husband had the Diwali special with poori. We started with mango lassi and ended the evening with comforting masala tea. Every bite felt like home. The food was absolutely delicious — the dosa, sambar, and chutneys were just perfect. As a Tamil, that taste really means something to me, and they got it so right. The vada was amazing too! It’s rare to find a place that not only serves great food but also makes you feel genuinely cared for. The waiter and chef were so kind, checking in and taking time to chat — their warmth really stayed with us. We left with happy hearts (and full stomachs!). Can’t wait to go back for more dosa and to try everything else on the menu. 💛✨

We had a really good meal here. There are a few tables downstairs but we were told to upstairs where there is more space. The staff were friendly and helpful and, most importantly, the guy taking the order believed us when we said we would like it Indian spicy. There was a choice of red wines. We ordered Masala Papads to start. We actually got two Papads with one yoghurt and one tamarind sauce. Very tasty. We then shared a lamb kadai, a vegetable biryani, a raita and a paratha. The lamb was tender and everything was delicious and perfectly spiced for our taste. With a bottle of wine and small water the bill came to 16,060. Cards are accepted. Highly recommended.

One of the better Indian restaurants in Budapest. The samosa chaat and madras chicken were booth pretty good, except that the madras wasn’t hot at all, even though I specifically asked for it. To be frank, though, the waiter didn’t speak English well, so he may have understood the opposite of what I wanted. The restaurant itself is very unassuming, nothing special, tables upstairs are a bit crammed. Portions are on the smaller side, two of us had 1 appetizer, 3 mains and 2 sides. It was just enough and our appetite is rather average. All in all, a good option for a quick lunch/dinner if you are in the area.

Devbhoomi Restaurant, Budapest - A Slice of Indian Culinary Heaven.

Devbhoomi Restaurant is quickly becoming a standout choice for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine in Budapest. From the moment you step inside, the warm and welcoming atmosphere combined with the rich, aromatic scents of traditional Indian spices sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

The food at Devbhoomi is truly a delight. Whether you’re a fan of Swaminarayan cuisine or craving classic Indian dishes, the flavours are rich, authentic, and cooked to perfection.

During my last visit, the Swaminarayan food was exactly what we needed, bursting with taste and made with care. It added a delightful touch to our late-night writing session, making the experience all the more memorable.

The staff at Devbhoomi deserve a special mention. They are friendly, attentive, and committed to ensuring a fantastic dining experience. While the service is already commendable, a few enhancements in service and infusing more authentic cultural vibes could elevate the dining experience even further.

With its impeccable ratings and glowing praise, Devbhoomi Restaurant is undoubtedly a top contender for the best Indian food in Budapest. For anyone looking to indulge in a culinary journey through India, Devbhoomi should be at the top of your list.

Thank you to the chefs and the entire team for bringing the flavours of India to Budapest so wonderfully. I wish Devbhoomi all the best and look forward to many more delicious meals!

I am big Indian food fan , it was my first time trying out this restaurant and I have tried many in Budapest so far.

Price: Very reasonable especially considering the price/performance I believe this restaurant can play to the top very easily.

Taste: I think there are only 1-2 restaurants that can beat them on taste for indian food but they are not really affordable anymore. For me butter chicken had some missing flavors and butter naan didnt had enough butter however again it was very delicious. Chicken soup was really good, i wish they also had without cream option as well.

Portion: Portions are pretty classic for the food, however rice amount was pretty big and we couldnt finish it with my wife. Naans could be bigger as i got used to but next time i will simply order two instead of one.

Our order arrived with a small note which i really care for such small acts.

Thank you Devbhoomi , we will order again for sure and we will visit your place as well.

A small tip: please spend some time on your mobile ordering websites, prices are different on different channels and...

The positives are that the food was good and at a very reasonable price. Was under 11000 for two of a main, Naan, drink and rice.

The negatives however:

Place wasn't that clean. You can see the photos yourself but the staff should, before service, have a walk around and do a minor tidy up. The toilet had stains, a random bottle cap, a dirty cloth and barely any soap in the dispenser. The floors throughout the whole restaurant could do with a vacuum as there was visible old food everywhere.

The rice, which we ordered for two, was in a quantity at which was less than rice ordered for one in other Indian restaurants. Rice is so cheap I didn't understand the rationing and we ran out of rice with approx half the meal left to eat.

I think there were four staff and we could hear them all loudly talking from downstairs. Not a big issue, we came there to eat after all, but something to note.

Staff were kind and the food good. Just needs some polish...
