I recently visited 杨国福麻辣烫 in Budapest, Hungary, and it was an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone. The service was shockingly poor, starting from the moment I walked through the door. The staff were incredibly unwelcoming, barely acknowledging my presence. When I finally managed to get someone's attention, they seemed annoyed and uninterested in helping. This was just the beginning of what turned out to be a very disappointing visit. The atmosphere of the restaurant was equally disheartening. The place felt neglected and uninviting, with an unpleasant smell lingering in the air. The lighting was dim and harsh at the same time, casting an unflattering glow over everything. The furniture seemed old and uncomfortable, making it hard to relax and enjoy my meal. Adding to the discomfort was the air conditioning, which was practically non-existent. Despite it being a hot day, the AC was barely functioning, leaving the place stuffy and unbearably warm. It was difficult to focus on anything other than how uncomfortable I felt. As if these issues weren't enough, the service form was incredibly bizarre. Instead of the straightforward ordering process one would expect, it was confusing and unnecessarily complicated. There was no clear direction on how to place an order, and the staff were of no help in explaining it. It felt like they expected customers to already know how their obscure system worked, which is absurd for a restaurant in a major city like Budapest. When my food finally arrived, it was a letdown. The presentation was sloppy, and the portions were small. The flavors were bland and unremarkable, a far cry from the vibrant and spicy taste I was expecting from a 麻辣烫 place. It was evident that no care or attention had been put into preparing the dishes. Even basic hygiene seemed to be an issue, with my table and utensils not properly cleaned. Throughout my meal, the staff continued to be inattentive and indifferent. At no point did anyone check on my table or ask if everything was okay. When I tried to call someone over for assistance, they either ignored me or acted as if I was inconveniencing them. It was clear that customer service was not a priority for this establishment. To top it all off, the noise level in the restaurant was unbearable. Conversations echoed through the poorly designed space, making it hard to have a peaceful dining experience. The overall vibe was chaotic and unpleasant, adding to the already dreadful atmosphere. In summary, my experience at 杨国福麻辣烫 was extremely disappointing. The combination of bad service, poor atmosphere, ineffective air conditioning, and the weird service form made it an uncomfortable and frustrating visit. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience in Budapest. There are plenty of other places in the city where you can enjoy good food and great service, and I suggest avoiding 杨国福麻辣烫...
Read moreDespite some of the negative reviews I read about this place I really wanted to try it myself as it has special concept, and it was definitely great, It's a crowded active place where people keep coming and staff are moving all the time to serve and clean tables so luckily I managed to find a table for 2 outside. I would recommend booking a table in advance to make sure you have a proper seating and if you want to sit outside. The service was good and the staff were kind as I was asking them and they answered what needed to be done, specially the young lady at the cashier was so kind and joyful. I wanted to try soup, so you will need to select from various options organized in open kinda fridge as in picture what you would like to have in your soup, all was fresh and clean, once you select you take it to be measured and select the type of broth at the cashier, I choose medium spicy beef broth and it was perfect for me as I like spicy food, you pay and then wait until you are called to get it, I paid for my soup and beer around 6400 K but It was massive as I chose so many things to put in the soup I couldn't even finish it and the price is fair, atmosphere is very nice outside in the terrace, I would definitely be a regular there , toilets weren't the cleanest though and that's the worst part of my...
Read moreOverall, I did not enjoy my experience at this place. We tried the hotpot buffet for 9999 ft per person and everything looked promising, but the wait time is way too long. They told us to scan the QR code to order, and when we ordered, we waited for almost an hour with no food on our table. When I went to ask the employee why it was taking so long, they told me I didn’t order the soup base, and that was why we didn’t receive any food. How can that be possible? If you see the customers have nothing on their table for an hour, you should at least check and ask, or have a sign to teach the customers how to use the system. Finally, we received the food and soup bases. The portions were very small. After ordering three more times, waiting for almost 2 hours, there was still nothing to be served, so we decided to pay and leave. We paid full price and it was not worth our money at all. The people serving didn’t bother to apologize and blamed it on their new system. I can understand that they just recently opened, but I really hope that they make some changes as they have a lot of potential. We overheard other customers complaining about how long the wait was, so it was...
