Hofbräu Vendéglő — Restaurant in Keszthelyi járás

We visit Hévíz regularly 3 times a year and HB has always been our favourite restaurant thanks to its lovely beer, tasty food and agreeable live music. Nevertheless recently (begining with 31st December 2023) the approach of the waiters has considerably changed: when you enter, you see that everything is reserved, even the long tables in the middle. That may happen, but one would expect some info about the time of the reservation. On 27th March it was the same, we sat outdoors and during our stay (2 beers and a meal each) nobody came to claim the reservation indoors, we could easily have sat there. What is more: several potential guests entered and left disappointed, it is not summer yet and after two beers it becomes rather chilly so instead of having some more we went somewhere else. We hope that this state of affairs is not supposed to last-it is neither Hungarian...

We ate here on a Saturday night. It was quite busy, but we did not needed to wait for a seat.

The restaurant is dog-friendly (owner has a Puli dog walking around :) ). So we could bring our dog also.

The beer (Hofbrau) was from the tap, which was really good. The food at the other hand was less good, not bad at all, but nothing special.

You will be able to have a decent meal for a normal price.

The service is good, and they deliver the food really fast.

It is nicely located in the centre. You will not be disappointed but also...

Cenare in questo posto è stata una esperienza orribile, una vera disgrazia. Innanzitutto, il cibo era a malapena accettabile. Di bassa qualità e in particolare la presentazione: abbiamo ordinato delle verdure come antipasto e mi hanno portato un piattino con quattro cose accatastate alla rinfusa, come se dovessi prepararmi un sandwich per andare a scuola; stessa cosa per la portata principale, con la carne e i condimenti gettati nel piatto come se fosse un FASTIDIO di cui liberarsi.

Ma il peggio è nella qualità del servizio e dello staff, appunto. Finito di cenare, vediamo che viene servito un vassoio di bevande al tavolo a fianco, qualcosa come 12 fra birre, vino e grappe. Chiamo il cameriere e chiedo una Pilsen da 0,2 e mi risponde "No, è chiuso". Chiedo quindi di spiegarmi il perché e il cameriere si infastidisce e se ne va. Chiedo a un'altro cameriere di parlare con la manager e le spiego il mio stupore, mi ripete che è chiuso e che non può servire per motivi fiscali, che quel tavolo è di suoi ospiti (e quindi beve...). Infatti, appena finito con noi si rivolge all'altro tavolo e - in tedesco, convinta noi non capissimo - chiede se volessero altre birre, e dice al cameriere di portare la grappa sul tavolo. Un'assoluta mancanza di rispetto e tatto, io avrei almeno offerto un bicchierino di conforto e cortesia, dato che non le costava nulla e comunque non stavano sgomberando.

E'stato difficile e spiacevole, avrei preferito restare a digiuno che rovinarmi la...
