I recently had the pleasure of visiting 1522 The Pub on Residency Road along with a group of 14 friends, and I must say, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The ambiance of the place is lively and welcoming, with an atmosphere perfectly suited for both casual gatherings and celebratory evenings.

The staff deserves a special mention for their attentive, courteous, and accommodating service. Managing a large group is never easy, yet the team here handled it with efficiency and genuine warmth, ensuring that we felt comfortable and well looked after throughout our visit.

The selection of beverages — both alcoholic and non-alcoholic — was impressive, with options available at a very reasonable price point considering the prime location and overall setting.

However, while most aspects of our visit were commendable, I did feel slightly let down by the food, particularly the items we ordered from the Italian section. We tried three varieties of pizza and two pasta dishes, and although they were decent, they didn’t quite match the standard I’ve experienced at other 1522 branches. The flavors and presentation left room for improvement.

The vibe of the place is social and upbeat. With the bar as the focus. The place is quite centrally located. The interiors are pretty slick too. The bar area is quite swanky and has an Irish Pub feel to it. I loved the neon lit “DRINK, DRANK DRUNK” sign at the back of the bar. There are seating options for both inside or outside the bar. Given the covid safety precautions , 1522 has set a transparent fibre screen between each table. This takes care of the fact that the tables are pretty closely set.

The bar menu is good. Most of the popular cocktails and hard drinks are available here along with some signature variants. I tried the “Bourne identity” :D This cocktail has just the right amount of alcohol with some really nice flavours. Also tried the ‘mojito’ and liked. Overall the drinks are on point! As for food, the menu has a great collection of Indian, Italian and continental fare. We tried the ‘tandoor’ options and found the taste perfect! And not to miss the Pasta as well as the Pizza. The thin crust pizzas here are perfect accompaniments with beer or cocktails.

Overall the place has all the sass that one would like at a neighbourhood pub. It’s a great place to hang out with friends or bae. The vibe is quite entertaining coz of the music too.
