From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was captivated by its warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with impeccable service. Green Onion truly stands out as a hidden gem in the culinary scene of Bangalore.
First and foremost, the menu at Green Onion offers a diverse range of delectable dishes that cater to a variety of palates. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, there's something for everyone. The restaurant takes pride in sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients, and it reflects in the flavors of each dish. The attention to detail and the skillful execution of flavors truly impressed me.
One highlight of my dining experience was the exemplary service provided by the attentive staff. The waiters were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations based on personal preferences. Their warm and friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
Now, let's talk about the food itself. Every dish I had the pleasure of trying was an absolute delight. The starters were a burst of flavors, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The Green Onion Special Salad, a refreshing blend of fresh greens and zesty dressings, was a delightful way to start my meal. Moving on to the main course, the restaurant's signature dish, the Paneer Makhani, left me craving for more. The succulent paneer combined with the rich, velvety tomato gravy was a match made in culinary heaven. The naans and rotis were soft and fluffy, complementing the dishes perfectly.

Read moreThere are so many different kinds of Asian cuisines, but nothing comes close to the greasy Chinese that we Indians love and adore. Green Onion on Residency Road in Bengaluru is a very old restaurant that has been serving some of the best Chinese dishes for a really long time. They have managed to be consistent with their taste and service for decades. We had the following while we were at Green Onion.
Started off with the Hot and Sour Chicken Soup. The soup had a very good thick consistency that we all crave for in a soup, the vegetables were fresh, the soup was rich in taste and spice, and moreover served piping hot.
For starters we had the Chicken Spring Rolls which were fried properly, the meat inside was cooked nicely, and the taste was perfect. The filling is not spicy at all and can ben enjoyed with the various sauces that they provide.
For the main course we had Prawns Chilli which was superb in terms of the taste, the spice level, and also the quantity that was provided. It was the perfect dish for our noodles and the rice.
The Chilli Garlic Chicken Noodles was super spicy thanks to the amount of green chilli that has been used in the dish. The noodles was cooked to perfection, the meat and the tiny shreds of egg was a perfect way to balance the overall taste of this dish.
The Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice was rice in taste, the spices were up to the mark, and the meat was cooked perfectly. Both the dishes goes well the prawns main course.
The parking is available right next door, and the service here is super fast. It is best to get here early as they are packed most of the time during lunch and dinner sessions. You can find Green Onion at 43 – 44, Chandraprabha Complex, Residency Road, Bangalore.

Read moreThis is the best Chinese restaurant I have even been to. I have been coming here since 2010. Their food is far better than Beijing bites or Mainland China and prices far more affordable. They were even featured in Times at one point.
The chicken drumsticks with their sweet sauce is amazing. Love their chicken manchow soup and chicken wanton soup. Their shezwan fried rice or crispy chicken noodles usually makes for my main course and though they don't serve dessert, you can hop into corner house in the next building for ice-cream. This has been my routine with green onions all these years.
The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. The restaurant has a very cozy and homely ambience.
Definitely worth trying. Avoid going for lunch on weekends. The place is usually packed full at that time and you might have to wait anywhere between 15-30 min for a table. Although this situation may have changed during the pandemic years, I don't know as I haven't had weekend lunch there for many years now. But I do pop in from time to time for weekend dinners and I simply...
