This was my third stay at the Monarch Hotel (previous stays were in March 2019 and March 2020). I was quite disappointed this time around. Let’s get the positives out of the way. + As always, the main reason we chose this hotel was its location. + This time around, as we were arriving in Bangalore on an evening flight, we requested an airport pick-up, and they arranged that for us. A big thank you to Punith, and also the driver, Rajendra. + Check-in was fast, as there was literally nobody else around when we got to the hotel. Things went downhill quickly as soon as we entered our room (room 310). - The room looked gloomy. - The floor was very dusty, as if it was not vacuumed. Had to wipe off our feet every time we walked inside the room. - There was no AC remote, just an on/off switch near the bed. - The bedsheet had stains. - Some of the pillows smelled bad, as if the pillow covers were unchanged. - The toilet made a weird gurgling sound when it was flushed. - The room door chain lock was broken. - Worst of all, the towels were so worn out they looked almost gray, and had holes in them (and it looked like they had cut one towel in half to make two). I am not a fussy guest; cleanliness and a comfortable bed are all I ask for, and I usually ignore other small things. But this time around, everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I know this is a 3-star hotel; but I had stayed here twice before (and my previous reviews here on this hotel would show that I never had any of these issues - which why I am so disappointed this time). Luckily, we had only made a booking for one night, and moved on to another hotel for the rest of the stay. I do not believe we would be staying here again.

The only good thing about this hotel is that it's located at a prime location of Bengaluru, which is the Brigade road. You step out of the hotel and all you can see is eateries and pubs. It's a lovely street right upto wee hours of the morning. Talking about the hotel. The rooms are bare minimum if nothing more. Feels very cramped and outdated. The upkeep of the rooms are not good at all. AC's make noise, bathrooms seems quite unkept. Toiletries are not sufficiently provided. Definitely not a place to put up.

Small rooms for the price. The room was not that clean. I will never book in this hotel. Wi-Fi password not shared in check-in. The password that is shared don't work, the login page never allowed login. And the speed mentioned is 4Mbps. I used my SIM data instead. Breakfast is average and was buffet. The towels given are torn. They give half litre bottle/person in the room. The room lights master switch had complaint. So in short not well maintained, less facilities or services offered.

Stayed at The Monarch from 4th to 14th March 2020. This was my second stay at the hotel. This time I travelled with my family; we stayed in 3 rooms (201, 210 and 222).||||The check-in process was fast. The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay at the hotel. Always smiled and greeted us when we passed by.||||The rooms were clean. There were no mini-fridges inside the rooms, but were provided when we requested. Irons and ironing boards were also provided upon request. These items were provided free of charge.||||The breakfast was good (mostly Indian food was available). We were happy to try Indian food everyday for breakfast during our stay. The staff at the restaurant were also very friendly and helpful.||||We tried the hotel's laundry services during our stay. We always received the washed and pressed clothes on the same day - so that was great as well.||||The best thing about the hotel is the location - which was the main reason we stayed there. The location is really really great, with a lot of shops, cafes, book stores, pharmacies etc. nearby. Metro is also very close. There is a mini market on the ground floor of the hotel, which is also very helpful if you want to buy some snacks or general items.||||Things which could be improved:||- Increase variety of food at breakfast; perhaps more international options.||- Better Wi-Fi service; it was a bit difficult to use daily wifi vouchers. (We were later provided with 7-day wifi vouchers, which made things easier.)||||Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel. We will definitely stay here again when we visit...
