Apna Dhaba is a pure veg Punjabi dhaba located in Basavanagudi. We recently visited this restaurant. The outlet is jam packed and doesnt have any space to move around. There are a total of 9 tables close to each other.
We were looking out for Chaap (soya) and this place popped up. The Afgani chaap is made with cream, cheese and the taste was good. This is served with salad and green chutney. The Masala Papad was so so in taste as well. Another time we ordered the Afgani chaap but I think they gave us the malai chaap instead.
Next we ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and Dal Tadka along with breads. The Paneer Tikka Masala didnt have any taste of tikka at all instead it had a very regular tangy taste. The Dal Tadka was again very simple in preparation. The breads were okay in taste. The Fresh Lime Soda was great.
The service is quite slow especially in peak hours. The problem is with every order the waiter goes to the main counter for entering the details and then comes back with the computerized bill to give it to the kitchen. It took 35mins to get our starter order and another 20mins for the main course.
The chaaps are good and the rest of the items are just okay. Service is...
Read moreApna Dhaba has been a lifesaver for me as a fan of North Indian cuisine. I regularly order from them, and the first time I did, I was impressed by their packaging and food quality. Everything I’ve tried, from Chole and Kadhai Paneer to Paneer Tikka Masala and other gravies, has been absolutely delicious. Even though I haven’t visited their outlet, Apna Dhaba has become my go-to on Zomato, with at least two orders every month.
The food is reasonably priced, especially when compared to other specialty chains like Kake Di Hatti and Ishtaa. The only downside is the extra charges on Zomato, but overall, it’s great value for money. I highly recommend checking out their food!
Edit: After visiting their store yesterday I felt that my previous rating is not worth the place. Previous I had rated it a straight 5 but would downgrade it to 3.5 🔻 as I didn't feel that good vibes when...
Read moreWent to this restaurant after many previous tasty online orders! Located in narrow crowded street, difficult to find car parking...easy to find 2 wheeler parking.
This is located right next to mini punjabi dhaba, lighting and restaurant ambience is okayish..stands up to the name of dhaba and nothing fancy to expect...could be made and maintained better I felt!
Ordered an afghani chaap, paneer Tikka masala, Rumali roti, butter phulkas, plain phulkas and ice cream lassi(mango flavour).
Chaap was tasty but I felt could be made more tastier with a lil more spice and onions. Paneer Tikka was delicious and spicy, people who love spicy food would enjoy it. Lassi was good too with a lot of dry fruits and a scoop of mango ice-cream.
Will be back to try more dishes, until then, I hope the hotel improvises on maintainence of...
