This place was in my to-go list after getting a recommendation from GMaps quite some time back. Finally visited here on a Sunday afternoon along with family on occasion of my wife's birthday. The place was near empty when we reached and got a place for 6 of us. I had made a list of items to order after reviewing their menu prior to visit. We ordered Masala Papad and Chicken Manchow Soup to begin with.. And that was also the beginning of our waiting ordeal. The simple Masala Papad took almost an hour to be served, with repeated nudges not yielding anything, and even sometimes not responding to our calls too. The Manchow Soup was not consistent and was a bit watery. The crispy noodles wasn't crisp, rather hard and the request for chilli vinegar was served with fresh chilli added to vinegar, and not how it was supposed to be. We had also ordered the following starters: Shredded Chicken Pepper Fry and Saha Pasand Afghani Chicken. Both took almost 45 mins to be served, against what was said 25-30 mins. Whilst both had good (masala) taste, chicken wasn't tender and lacked the cooking it needed. We weren't quite happy especially with the Afghani Chicken. Seeing the delay, we had ordered our main course also in advance so that we can get our items without much wait, atleast we hoped so. We ordered the following: Ehsase Murgh and Chettinad Chicken. The description for Ehsase Murgh was it would be served with grated boiled egg but it was just cut slices, disappointing us. The chicken pieces were again not upto the mark. To have these along, we also ordered phulka and butter roti. While we were told each butter roti would be cut into 3, it was 2 otherwise. We didn't order more as we didn't want to wait till night to get it served. We also ordered Zaffrani Murgh Biriyani, which had 4 pieces of chicken and served with raita. This was relatively better compared to other chicken dishes. For beverages, we ordered the following: Virgin Mojito, Guava Jack, Fruity Punch, Electric Shock and Classic Shirley Temple. These mocktails also took almost an hour to be served, and that too served separately. What could have been finished in about less than 1.5 hours, our visit went well beyond 2 hrs. There were more and more people coming in and the restaurant was almost full. There were only 3 bearers to manage the whole crowd and I am unsure how many cooks to manage the orders. Whilst I believe the place might have been better before pandemic, as my wife had visited couple of years ago, it has certainly gone down a good notch. As much as I would like give it another try, probably not until things literally gets normalised. Note: their buffet breakfast is currently not happening due to pandemic.
Parking would an issue as the location is along the main road. While the ambience is definitely good, Prices are okay and our bill of around ₹3,500 became ₹2,400, thanks to...
Read moreIt was our family get together and we thought to try a new restaurant in Jayanagar HOT GRIDDLE....As the name says it was a griddle experience for us. The food was incredibly delicious starting from the Moctails, Starters, Main course to desert. Each and every dish was mouth watering and had a specialty. Weekends are found very rushy. We had booking through zomato prior to couple of days.
The order list as follows;
Moctails - Naughty watermelon, Guava Jackpot, Hot griddle special moctail
Moctail was awesome over here.They have an exclusive Moctail counter and we can see it live preparation. Must to try specially in summer to beat the heat.
From the Griddle- Now this is the signature dish of the restaurant with an unique concept. There are few marination which we can taste and choose with our preferred (lamp/prawns'chicken/veggies) ,to get it marinated and prepared in a choice of sauce again in different griddle way. We had prawns and trust me it was finger licking.
3.Starters- We ordered Peri Peri french fries and Afghani chicken Kabab. One of the best Afghani kabab which I had in my recent times with rich taste of cashews and herbs.
Chicken biriyani was good with very rich flavors. We have also ordered Kashmiri Mutton Rogan josh which was too good with very soft Butter Nan and Phulka . Pastas was again very rich in taste with proper Italian preparation.
Deserts - We ordered Granny Smith Crepe which is caramelized cinnamon flavored apple and coconut stuffed inside a sweet crepe. Trust me this was a variety desert which I have never tasted before and heavenly in taste,
Ambiance is nice with well behaved staff and fast service. Neat and clean place with classy dinning. Rates are also reasonable and each and every dish is worth the price. If I had to define taste then it would undoubtedly get a distinction. How could I forget about the presentation and specifically their plating are beautiful which makes...
Read moreLocated on a busy street is this great restaurant which focuses on griddled food( food cooked on a hot iron plate). The highlight is there different marination which you can get to choose from, i enjoyed all of them but my favourite was the Jerk marination and Peri Peri one. In terms of non veg they had, chicken prawn and lamb. In drinks really enjoyed the HOT GRIDDLE special drink- small pieces of cucumber and strawberry gave a crunch in each bite, very delicious.
In starters I enjoyed the SHREDDED CHICKEN PEPPER FRY- southindian style chicken with a twist, they used a curry leaf pesto, very delicious and finished in seconds. SAHA PASAND AFGHANI CHICKEN- cream and nut paste cooked chicken tasted great with the grilled chicken and was a flavour bomb
In main course from the griddle had JERK MARINATED PRAWN with both citrus buree blanc and jerk sauces- the prawn was cooked to perfection and paired very well with the jerk sauce. BURGER- ZESTY CHICKEN PICCATA- generous chicken burger with prominent gherkin flavours.
In desserts CUSTARD JAMOON- a quirky warm dessert with gulab jamoon submerged in custard and generous amount of caramel sauce paired around it, tasted heavenly and a must have.
Overall a good place for flavourfull food and ambience, definitely a date night...
