Edit 2: I eat here everyday for the dearth of another good restaurant. 1 year later and the staff are still rude. When I try and speak in Kannada, they arrogantly respond in Hindi. The floor head in there service section behaves like he owns the restaurant and is extremely arrogant. 1 roti took half an hour to prepare and when I politely asked why, I was ganged up by the waiters and was told that’s how much time roti takes everywhere, which is nonsense. The cutlery is dirty every time. I’ve attached a photo of the coffee cup with sip stain.
If another good restaurant opens nearby I won’t be coming to this sad place.
Edit: visited the restaurant and the service is horrible. Rude staff, unwashed cutlery, dirty tables… Ordered food and they came back after 15 mins saying 2 items were not available. Ordered badam milk and they sent it in a dirty white cup with coffee stains all over. I should have taken a photo to show how disgusting it was. After it was replaced they sent plain milk instead. And over that the manager is sick-faced, unpleasant person. Doesn’t even look like a manager. This place is for uneducated people who are pampered by decent interiors and good food. Food is decent.
This review is for the delivered items. Missing items and they don’t even have a phone number to report this. The quality of packaging is worse than small restaurants. Coffee was sent in a plastic box that they use for chutney.
The one star is only for the good quality food. But I won’t be ordering from this...
Read moreKrishnam Udupi Hotel offers a mixed dining experience that leaves me with both contentment and slight disappointment. Let's start with the positives—the Kadai Paneer and Kulcha were simply outstanding! The paneer was incredibly tender, infused with aromatic spices and cooked to perfection in the flavorful tomato-based gravy. The Kulcha, soft and fluffy, complemented the paneer dish impeccably, making it a delightful combination. These two dishes alone would bring me back to Krishnam Udupi Hotel.
However, my enthusiasm took a hit when I tried the Handi Biryani. While the presentation was appealing, the taste left much to be desired. The biryani lacked the distinct blend of spices and depth of flavors that one expects from this classic dish. It was rather ordinary and did not live up to the high standard set by the paneer and kulcha.
The restaurant ambiance was pleasant, providing a relaxed and cozy atmosphere for dining. The service was satisfactory, with the staff being attentive and polite. Prices were reasonable, making it a suitable option for a budget-friendly meal.
Despite the Handi Biryani's letdown, Krishnam Udupi Hotel redeems itself with the exceptional Kadai Paneer and Kulcha. If you are a fan of paneer dishes, this place is a must-visit. However, if you're seeking an unforgettable biryani experience, you might want to explore other options. Overall, Krishnam Udupi Hotel is a decent veg restaurant with room for improvement in...
