Madurai Famous Jigarthanda has a few stores in Bengaluru. Today, I came across one of them just outside Halasuru metro station (Use Exit C - Jogupalya side). For those who do not know what a Jigarthanda is, it is an absolute delight for both adults and children. Jigarthanda is a drink made by mixing Badam Pisin, Nannari Sharbat, Sugar and Milk Cream with a layer of Basundi. Though one cannot match the freshness of the Jigarthanda that we get in Madurai (the origin), it is still a pleasure to have this drink in Bengaluru as well. I never knew the famous Jigarthanda from Madurai existed in Bangalore too before I happened to see this place by accident near the Halasuru metro (purple line). The sad part is that the cost is twice that of Madurai and the size of the Jigarthanda glass is exactly half of what you get in Madurai.
