I went here on a Sunday for lunch. We ordered chicken pizza & carbonara pasta. Safe to say if you want to have their non-veg options then they'll all be highly mediocre. If that was already not disappointing enough, the place was extremely loud and noisy. Since the seating area is fairly concise, one should be more mindful of the others sitting around them, but there was a bunch of high schoolers seated in front of us that kept conversing in loud noises, trying to talk over each other, laughing loudly and randomly getting up and roaming around the place. What was even more surprising was that the waiting staff/extended part of the family owners, rather than asking them to be more considerate of the people around them, joined in on their discussions and was offering them discounts or freebies for a few video shout-outs, which made them converse at an even more higher decible which at this point was just becoming unbearable. See how I have not reviewed the food yet? Cause the people running it should realise that the ambiance can affect the way the food tastes and that they aren't serving just 1-2 tables, but many others who are here for a good Sunday experience. Another thing happening at this place was that a person (maybe a food blogger) asked us for permission to be included in a video they were recording of the restaurant. But that quickly turned into him recording my food, my face and me eating it (I'm sure I did not have a pleasant look, please take the hint). The pizza was fine, the pasta extremely bland. They gave us chilli oil (saving grace) after we had finished 85% of the food, but the Shirley Temple was good. The chef/owner seemed to be a nice and welcoming lady and hopefully takes this in a positive way. I understand that this might be a family-owned eatery but please do not encourage & allow chaos and disturbance from visitors you might be...
Read moreMon Cheri Resto Café in Indiranagar, Bengaluru, will surprise you with some really tasty food. Located in a basement, you will not find this place to be fancy as such, decent interiors, clean, and really good food. Staff are very attentive; they help you with anything you require during your time at Mon Cheri. Parking for four-wheelers will surely be a pain, as it is impossible to find parking close by.
Butter Garlic Prawns was one of our main course choices, which ended up being our least favorite dish at Mon Cheri. Ideally, we wanted something rich in garlic, but it was rather creamy butter with garlic. It was quite a thick cream, which did not give flavor to the prawns. Spaghetti Al Pesto with prawns, however, was mind-blowing, surely one of the best pesto sauces we have had in Bengaluru. The dish was surely top notch, freshly cooked pasta, rich in pesto flavor, and had all the right elements one could ask for in a pasta.
Ravioli Al Pollo is a specialty that is available only on Saturdays and Sundays. These are hand-rolled pasta filled with the most flavorful chicken. The tomato sauce adds more zing to this amazing pasta dish. If you do come by on a weekend, make sure you try this out. The cappuccino was warm and nice, as good as it could be.
The Hot Chocolate was piping hot, had a fair amount of thickness, and was neat. The tiramisu was nicely presented, it was rich in flavor, the alcohol content is slightly on the higher side, and I am sure not everyone would enjoy that. Even though we enjoyed it, the sprinkling of cocoa powder on the top and the alcohol content made it a little uncomfortable to enjoy the dessert. Was it bad? No, but not the most rewarding experience.
We did get some in-house discounts as our bill was above 800, adding to this, we also availed a discount on Zomato as well for...
Read moreThe highly Instagram hyped Mon chéri resto cafe situated on CMH road, Indiranagar which was visited with much anticipation turned out to be a disappointment on many levels.
Dishes ordered -
Under the dishes @99 menu: Burger - fresh and loaded with veggies, worth the price paid Taco - ridiculously small sized and the corn shell + filling inside was a major disappointment both in terms of value for money as well as taste Margherita pizza - thin crust and liberally cheesy pizza, worth the price paid Burrito - small sized roll with veggies and rice filling which wasn't particularly great and had a slight after taste, overall not worth the money paid
Regular menu: Pannini Pesto sphagetti pasta Fusilli arabiatta pasta The pasta options were tasty, al-dente and portion sizes good with a garlic bread accompaniment. Pannini needed more salt, flavour in the fillings and was average; it came with fries and two types of dip.
Pros - Good ambience and spacious seating Clean and well maintained place Good portion size for the regular menu UPI and all payment modes accepted
Cons - Terrible service with more than 20 min waiting time per dish Constant need to wave, call for attention regarding everything food/non food related despite having 5-6 staff on the floor Parking not available as the establishment is on the main road. Need to park in the side roads or use metro as the station is at a walkable distance
While the owner apologised for the delay in service, his justification that this is not a QSR and food cannot come soon was an unwarranted remark. Suggestion to the owner: Please work on improving the service as QSR or not, 20 minutes per dish (even if 1 of 2 dishes ordered at the same time is cancelled) is definitely not a...
