I recently visited this fantastic Maharashtrian restaurant, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that instantly made me feel at home.
Now let's talk about the food! We ordered the Pithla Bhakri, Vada Pav, and Pav Bhaji, and they were nothing short of amazing. The Pithla Bhakri was a delightful combination of a thick chickpea flour curry and perfectly cooked flatbread. The flavors were rich and authentic, reminding me of the traditional Maharashtrian cuisine I dearly miss.
Ah, the Vada Pav! This iconic street food brought back memories of my past trip to Pune. The deep-fried potato dumpling encased in a soft bun, accompanied by flavorful chutneys, was an absolute delight. It was just as delicious as I remembered, if not better!
And then there was the Pav Bhaji, a culinary masterpiece. The mashed vegetables cooked in a medley of spices created a heavenly blend of flavors. The buttered pav added the perfect touch to this mouthwatering dish. I couldn't help but savor each bite, relishing the authenticity of Maharashtrian street food.
I cannot emphasize enough how Muraamba captures the essence of Maharashtrian cuisine. The dedication to flavors, the use of fresh ingredients, and the skillful execution of each dish truly impressed me. If you're craving authentic Maharashtrian food, Muraamba should be your ultimate destination.
The staff members were attentive, friendly, and passionate about their cuisine. They were more than happy to answer our questions and offer recommendations, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.
I would highly recommend Muraamba to anyone seeking a genuine taste of Maharashtra. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant will transport you to the heart of Maharashtrian flavors. Don't miss out on the opportunity to savor their mouthwatering Pithla Bhakri, Vada Pav, and Pav Bhaji. Muraamba is a true gem that left me craving for more. I can't...
Read moreOkay so the experience was quite disappointing for me. I've been thinking about visiting this place for months and finally visited to be utterly disappointed.
We visited on Sunday 6 July (ashadhi ekadashi) for breakfast
Sabudana wada - The wada was crunchy and hot but everything else was terrible. very bland taste with nothing inside, no taste no flavour. I cook good marathi food, what I observed is there was nothing inside wada except sabudana and grated green chilli. It felt like a big joke because how can someone mess up sabudana wada.
Misal - After my failed attempt of upwas we order misal. It was okay okay, the chutney that came with was cold and fresh out of fridge, the pav were state (It was a Sunday, Saturday has already gone. Any restaurant would have fresh food atleast on Saturday sunday) For the first time in my life I settled for only two pav that comes with it.
Wada pav - again the chutney had fridge taste and was stale. I felt that old aloo wala taste in aloo. The covering of Wada pav is not truly maharashtrian (neither mumbai not pune nor nashik) wadapav usually tastes best with flavourful aloo chutney but plain besan covering.
The service was terrible the waiter gave Wada pav instantly but took forever to deliver rest of the things. I expected good sabudana wada after so much wait as it takes time in the oil to cook. But disappointed. The food was bland with no real taste and service was terrible.
For Owners- I crave for good marathi food in Bangalore and believe me I would have loved to give good rating and recommend it to my friends. Hope you take this review positively.
Others - for now I recommend Gavran misal in hsr for amazing misal in Bangalore and suryawanshi for lunch and...
Read moreClassic example of how a simple and neat restaurant ambience can be totally ruined by tasteless food!
I had hear about this place and we decided to go here for lunch on a Sunday- and it turned out to be a wrong decision. While the ambience was very welcoming the buck stopped there! I am not sure why one should add so many items in menu and then say “we don’t have this, we don’t have that”. I prefer restaurants that serve few dishes and serve it tastefully well. Anyways, we ordered Potwala Bhakri but since Bhakri wasn’t there we switched to Chapati Pithala and one Thali. The Thali arrived in 5 mins and the moment it was served I knew my lunch was ruined. The Chapati was uncooked and each of the 3 chapatis had shapes of different continents. I would have probably rolled better chapatis than what they served! Asked them to change the chapatis promptly. The replaced ones arrived in couple mins but were no better. The dal, gravy sabji, dry sabji were equally bad and tasteless. Solkadhi was okay. The saving grace was kothimbir wadi. Let’s not talk about the plain rice - seems it was some stale quality. Then came the masale Bhath that I was eagerly waiting for. After 3 reminders it finally arrived in a small plate. Another classic dish ruined royally! Half of the rice was cold and half was piping hot - huh!!! Add to that it seemed like the masala was sprinkled on top of plain rice since one could taste the masala very promptly. The other plate had Pithala which was another disappointment. It tasted only besan - no salt, no spices, nothing. Seriously! Is this how we are mocking Marathi cuisine!??
I was glad that I know which place not to go...
