The AECS Layout in Whitefield is full of hidden gems and surprises, new restaurants around here pop up waiting to be discovered. I recently bumped into one such gem The Noodle Theory. Slightly difficult to find as most people don’t go beyond Asha Tiffins junction, but those who do will be pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful Pan Asian place that celebrates some wonderful food that too being lighter on your wallet. A bunch of friends decided to meet here for lunch and as the fantastic vegetarian spread that kept coming, we simply loved every bite of authentic and flavoursome goodness this place has to offer.
We kickstarted with some chill potato and crunchy lotus stem, both very similar but very different in terms of textures and that wonderful crunch, and just as we devoured that in minutes, our array of steamed and fried dim sums were delivered piping hot. The Spinach, Corn and Cheese dim sum was excellent and both that dipping sauce were absolutely stunning. What spiced things up were the fried dim sums, the way too tangy Lemon Butter Garlic and the spicy Schezuan, and these were essentially steamed dim sums tossed and fried in a choice of sauce, definitely a worthy try.
The choice of steamed dim sums were aplenty and upon request we got an assorted dim sum platter and my heart just went out to that basil dim sum that was simply divine. All this paired with a Lemongrass Lemonade that kept me company throughout the meal, they do have other interesting mocktails and an array of Goli soda flavours.
They also have assorted sushi’s that are completely vegetarian, and some of the uramakis were so perfect that I had to fight and finish with rest of the group. Between the Avocado Uramaki and the Spicy Mushroom, the Avocado is a must try and I highly recommend it.
We did receive a complimentary tasting of their soupy dim sums, a deliciously steamed dim sums in a hot flavoursome broth, that was very good, just missing a dash or soy or vinegar for that nailing umami hit.
The Chili Paneer Bao and the Thai Style Mushroom bao were excellent creations, with strong flavours sandwiched in a superbly fluffy baos, another must here here at The Noodle Theory.
For choosing the mains they handle the baton to you as have a unique way for you customise your rice or noodle preference with various choice of sauces, with a protein that you prefer and an assortment of condiments for you to garnish your meal bowl with. Very similar to ordering process in some of the restaurants in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok, you get a form where you tick off your choices and hand it to the chef and what comes after is a magical bowl of goodness that has been uniquely curated for you, by you. We went crazy and customised three bowls of what we each wanted to have, still what we would like to share between the three. It took us a while but we were able to agree on our individual and group presence. No prizes for guessing, my choice was the Thai Green Curry, that missed my pea aubergines, but it is as authentic as it can get from any pan asian place nearby. I loved it to the core and so did the rest of the group, a very creamy curry with jasmine rice was just the right way for me to end my fantastic meal here. I did sample the other two bowls my friends had curated, Malaysian flat noodles tossed in a spicy peanut sauce with a sesame garnish and Flat Noodles tossed in a Thai Nam Prik Sauce. Both were excellent versions and next to the Green Curry, the Nam Prik was my favourite and I highly recommend that too.
For all your vegetarians, and pan asian food fanatics, The Noodle Theory is a must visit and highly recommended immensely, do try them and share your experience...

Service : Slow . We waited 25-30 mins before our dimsums were served . the owners of the place were not very friendly , instead of taking constructive feedback from us they seemed to be in denial and we felt unheard. Although they replaced the sauce and made some changes it didn’t help much.
Hygiene: floor was dirty and the tables were sticky, one of the spoons on the table had a stain. I can’t imagine how the kitchen would be.
Food : We ordered
Tom kha soup - it was too thick, almost 90% of it was coconut milk, not a single veggie in the soup . There were dried herbs mixed in but no fresh veggies like bamboo shoots , galangal or coriander or carrots like your usual Tom kha soup
make your own Noodle bowl - initially ordered a spicy peanut sauce bowl ( listed as medium spice ) but it was really spicy and wasn’t edible . We returned it back and they replaced it with a teriyaki sauce noodle bowl but it was super salty this time - maybe they added soy sauce as well as teriyaki sauce and it went overboard ? We let the owner know but he said this was the usual sauce . We walked away leaving both the noodle bowls unfinished, what a terrible dinner .
Not sure if the chef tastes his own food from time to time but he really should and take feedback from customers instead of sitting on a high horse .
Also hardly any tofu or vegetables in both the noodle bowls, literally found two small Chunks of tofu by mistake . Most of it was just sauce and noodles .
If you have to stop by here, just get the bao or dimsums and call it a night, rest of the food here is not worth the wait . Won’t be...
Read moreI recently visited this gem of a vegetarian noodle restaurant and was completely blown away by the quality and taste of their food. As a vegetarian, it’s often a challenge to find a place that doesn’t just offer great options but also excels in flavor and presentation. This restaurant, however, hit all the right notes.
Their sushi selection, despite being vegetarian, was diverse and delicious. Each piece was a work of art, both in taste and in presentation. It’s hard to find vegetarian sushi that feels both authentic and inventive, but they’ve managed to do just that.
The noodles were equally impressive. I had a bowl that was both hearty and bursting with layers of flavor. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into preparing each dish, using fresh ingredients that truly shone through in each bite.
Service was impeccable, with staff who were friendly and knowledgeable, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.
I can’t recommend this restaurant enough to anyone looking for outstanding vegetarian sushi and noodles. It’s a place that proves vegetarian cuisine can be just as exciting and satisfying as any other. Definitely...
