As they say, sometimes you discover hidden gems by chance! That's exactly what happened with this restaurant! I was at Ashok Nagar and I had been planning to visit another prominent restaurant, since it was an absolute favorite of mine. Unfortunately, this was around the time the lockdown was lifted and hence, dine-in wasn't an option there. Not knowing what to do, my eyes wandered around, with me ending up glancing upon the 'Nagarjuna' name board, just across. First thing I did was ask about whether dine-in was available and they said the magical word - yes! Now the hard part was after I reached the restaurant. The restaurant was crawling with people and the waiting period felt like an eternity! That's when I finally got to know about how prominent the restaurant was! During the time of a pandemic, I didn't quite anticipate this. Based on this, I will definitely recommend a takeaway if possible. After I finally got in, it was quick for me to decide on the chicken biryani and a starter, chicken sixer. The food was served real quick, considering the huge crowd, both within and outside the premises. I haven't had much Andhra biryanis before. Therefore, I wouldn't compare it against any other nor mention about the difference in taste. For me it was an amazing experience! The biryani is served on a plantain leaf along with raita and salan but believe me, you wouldn't need either of them! The biryani in itself was so aromatic and bursting with flavours. It was so addictive to the point that I didn't even care about the starter that I had ordered! Coming to the starter, it was juicy and scrumptious. Having the chicken along with the chillies and coriander leaves sprinkled on top is my recommended approach. But, it may get real spicy then! The quantity of the said food will be enough for one or two, based on one's appetite. Overall, I really loved the food here. I'm really glad I discovered this amazing restaurant and was able to experience it(I've only been to B'lore a couple of times before and I do not stay there). It's a definite recommendation and I would really love to try out their thali and mutton...
Read more⭐ 1-Star Review for Nagarjuna Residency, Residency Road, Bangalore Me and my girlfriend visited Nagarjuna Residency today. Since we had an overnight train journey ahead, we decided to have something simple — just a veg meal. My girlfriend usually eats very little, so even though the famous Meghana Biryani was right beside us, we chose your restaurant for a light meal. We ordered one veg meal (₹325) because it’s quite heavy for both of us to finish two. It wasn’t about the money — we simply didn’t want to waste food. Still, to be considerate, we also ordered a mutton roast (₹495) so that the restaurant wouldn’t feel we were being stingy by sharing one meal. But while we were eating, the order-taker came with a very unpleasant expression, as if we had done something wrong, and told us that sharing a meal was not allowed. His tone and expression were extremely rude — as though he was disgusted that we were sharing food. Honestly, it felt insulting and unnecessary. We were there for just 30 minutes and had already spent ₹956. Your meals were average, the mutton roast below average, and the quantity quite poor for the price. Still, we were polite and didn’t misuse anything — we shared our meal, asked for a small extra portion of dal, and didn’t demand anything else. If your staff were so strict about sharing, they should have informed us while taking the order, not come midway through the meal and embarrass us in front of everyone. Coming from Kerala (Malabar), I can tell you — no decent restaurant staff would interrupt and insult customers while they’re eating. If you have a rule, communicate it respectfully at the start. Dear Nagarjuna Hotel, you charge ₹325 for an average meal and still expect everyone to order one each, regardless of appetite, just to satisfy your rule? You seriously need to improve your staff behaviour and perspective towards customers. Respecting customers should matter more than enforcing such petty,...

If you're craving bold, fiery flavors and authentic Andhra-style cuisine, Nagarjuna on Residency Road is a culinary landmark you simply can’t miss From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly ground spices and simmering curries sets the tone for a meal that’s both comforting and unforgettable. The Andhra meals served on banana leaves are a true celebration of tradition - piping hot rice, ghee, pappu (dal), spicy podi and rich gravies come together in perfect harmony. Whether you go veg or non-veg, the flavors are deep, rustic, and soul-satisfying. I tried the veg meal, and it was absolutely delightful 🤩. For meat lovers, the Mutton Biryani is a showstopper - fragrant rice layered with tender meat and signature Andhra spices that distinguish it from the usual Hyderabadi fare. Pair it with their raita and salan, and you’re in for a treat. The Mutton Roast and Prawns Sholay Kebab are also top picks that complement the mains beautifully (these are reviews by my friend as I am veg :-)) The ambience is relaxed and comfortable, ideal for both family outings and casual lunches. Though weekends can get busy, the service is prompt and efficient, ensuring you’re not left waiting too long. The staff are warm and attentive, always making sure your banana leaf stays generously filled.
