I am writing this to formally raise a serious concern regarding a highly disturbing experience we had with Rameshwaram Café, JP Nagar outlet, following our recent Zomato order
Upon receiving our food delivery, we were absolutely appalled to discover a dead fly inside the food. This is not just unacceptable—it is a direct violation of basic hygiene and food safety standards. Such negligence poses severe health risks and reflects a total disregard for consumer well-being.
Naturally, our first course of action was to contact the outlet to report this grave issue. However, our concerns were met not with an apology or an intent to resolve the matter, but with shocking disrespect and unprofessionalism. A staff member answered our call, dismissed our complaint, offered a refund with no acknowledgment of the seriousness of the issue, and abruptly disconnected the call. Their attitude was indifferent, lacking even the most basic customer service etiquette.
Given the nature of the situation, we felt compelled to visit the outlet in person, carrying the food box with the dead fly to directly raise the issue with the management. What followed was even more alarming:
The outlet staff appeared completely clueless and disorganized.
Instead of acknowledging or investigating the complaint, one individual who identified himself as a bouncer named Sharad forcibly took the food box from us and threw it away without our consent.
His dismissive attitude, smirking demeanor, and complete lack of accountability suggested that such incidents are either frequent or simply not taken seriously at this outlet.
Despite our repeated attempts to convey that this issue was not about a refund or compensation—but about the health hazard and lack of hygiene—the only response we received was an offer to "take a refund" and move on.
In frustration, we even challenged them to eat the same food themselves if they truly believed there was nothing wrong with it.
The way this matter was handled—from poor food hygiene to the arrogant and disrespectful conduct of staff—raises deep concerns about the outlet’s operational standards and employee training. It was evident that customer health, safety, and feedback are not taken seriously, and staff like Sharad seem emboldened by a culture of zero accountability.
This isn't just about one bad meal—it reflects a larger issue of negligence, lack of training, and disregard for customer health and dignity. Rameshwaram Café is a recognized name, and such incidents, if brushed under the carpet, can tarnish the trust that customers place...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Rameswaram Cafe in JP Nagar, and it turned out to be a fantastic culinary experience. This cozy café offers a delightful array of South Indian tiffin items that left me craving for more.
Their menu boasts a variety of traditional South Indian delicacies, and I had the opportunity to savor some authentic flavors. The "Thatte Idli" was simply divine - fluffy, soft, and accompanied by an assortment of chutneys and sambar that complemented it perfectly. It was a wholesome and satisfying treat.
Next up, their dosas were a true delight. From the classic Masala Dosa to the delectable Mysore Masala Dosa, each one was expertly prepared and packed with flavors that left me wanting another round. The crispy texture and generous filling made these dosas an absolute pleasure to devour.
If you're a fan of pooris, Rameswaram Cafe won't disappoint. The puffed pooris, served with a side of flavorful potato curry, were a real treat for the taste buds. The combination was spot-on, and the pooris were light and airy, just as they should be.
One of the highlights of my visit was trying their Paddu, a lesser-known South Indian specialty. These cute little rice balls were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, bursting with a delightful blend of flavors. It was a unique addition to their menu that I highly recommend trying.
Lastly, the rice items offered at Rameswaram Cafe were also worth mentioning. Their selection of rice dishes, including lemon rice and puliyodarai (tamarind rice), were perfectly seasoned and incredibly flavorful. Each bite transported me to the heart of South India.
The ambience of the café is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff providing excellent service. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality and taste of the food.
Overall, my experience at Rameswaram Cafe in JP Nagar was exceptional. If you're craving an authentic South Indian tiffin experience with dishes like Thatte Idli, dosa, poori, Paddu, and rice items, this is the place to be. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts and South Indian cuisine...
Read moreRecently visited this place after its hype in social media.
To begin with, the cafe is so overrated and hyped, You will realise it the moment you reach in front of the cafe and struggle to park your vehicle. Let’s call it struggle no.1
The queue for just order the food was around 15-20 long, remember we went there for braces around 11 am. Let’s call it struggle no.2
Now once you have ordered and got the slip for the items you have ordered. Now you have to stand in a queue or I should say stand in the crowd to present your order slip to the food counter. Ad this restaurant works on QSR model, with all the crowd it becomes a real struggle to get the food, remember if you have ordered multiple items there is a good chance that you will have to stand in different queues to get the items as for example the have a different queue for tea/coffee, another queue for idili/ dosas and stuff and yet another queue for sweets or puri, etc. ( i had to stand in all three queues to get all items in my order). Then wait for them to prepare the food. Let’s call it struggle no.3
Now by the time you got all the items you have ordered. Be ready to find little or no space to eat or try to squeeze yourself into someone else’s table. Yes its that crowded and you will find lot of people having food outside even sitting on the steps. Let’s call it struggle no.4.
Finally is it worth all the struggle, i would say, i ll visit this place again only if i find it with no crowd or if they come up with a better model to manage the crowd.
The food is good, you will authentic South Indian taste. But that you can get in so many less popular places inside the city.
Pro tip: try to go in a gourp or atleast couple so that you can distribute the tasks, like finding a parking spot, standing in queue to order, and other different quests to pick the order, and find a table or space to eat by that time, you can save a lot of time by this. Also try to avoid visiting...
