Maverick & Farmer Coffee — Restaurant in Bengaluru

My first tryst with Maverick & Farmer Coffee was during a weekend breakfast at Lavonne, a caramel macchiato which proved to be an excellent indulgence of pure coffee with a mild dash of milk and a caramel infusion. I have been meaning to try their fantastic offerings for a long time and I managed to hit their Koramangala outlet recently for lunch, the one that is located within the BMW Motorrad.

Kickstarted my meal with a coffee of course, my eternal favourite a Vietnamese Cold Coffee, the presentation was very unique, with beautiful layers of condense milk bleeding into the hot espresso on the top. But this presentation made it difficult to pour the ice cubes and give a good mix. I loved the strength of the coffee and the flexibility that you have on how much of the condensed milk you need to stir up to make the drink sweet towards your liking. I paired this with chicken strips that came with a whiff of popcorn but tasted nothing like it, just well-made, meaty chicken with a delicious mild seasoning, served with a thousand island-like sauce that seemed fresh and not one out of a bottle.

I followed this up with a Ceasar salad with smoked chicken, that was fantastic, crunchy lettuce in a mildly creamy dressing with sourdough croutons with smoked chicken tossed in, a very delicious version and can be an indulgent start to some of the wonderful offerings here.

Being a fan of poached eggs and my new found obsession for Turkish eggs, I was tempted and ordered the version served here. Two perfectly poached eggs on a bed of greek yogurt with a chili oil drizzle with teared mint sprinkle, served with two slices of buttered down garlic bread. The soft poached runny eggs complimented the mildly sour greek yogurt that was extremely creamy, paired with a kick or two from the chili oil. The bread was well made and helped me scoop out the creamy poached eggs along with the greek yogurt, definitely a top notch version.

Before heading towards some of their decadent desserts I decided to share their Signature Square burger with barbeque chicken. I was very surprised at how good the burger was, right from the texture of the bun, to ratio to the barbeque chicken center, the cheese, it was simply perfect and righly so was served with potato chips and not fried, that definitely added a lot to what this burger has to offer. Two bowls of a extremely well made in-house mayo and a spicy coarse tomato ketchup was absolutely not needed, but helped us finish the chips throughly. There is no doubt that Maverick and Farmer's coffee game is top notch, but it was surprising to find the food options were not just wide, but equally fabulous, a highly recommended space for coffee...

In my visit, we tried their: Vietnamese Cold Brew - a rich and flavourful drink also known as “ca phe sua da”, which combines sweetened condensed milk with their dark-roasted Cold Brew Coffee ⁠To Die For - the best cold coffee ever with notes of Espresso and Nutella, my favourite combination of flavours ⁠Turkish Poached Eggs - with flavour bursting in every bite, this protein packed snack with sundried tomatoes and the most amazing yoghurt dressing ⁠Chicken Steak - accompanied by healthy veggies and a yummy vinaigrette dressing ⁠Kale & Co - protein packed green, chickpeas, and apple, in some amazing (secret) sauce ⁠Key lime pie - just scrumptious ⁠Apple pie - fresh, flavourful, and a favourite ⁠Chocolate cake - rich, velvety, and oh so good.

If you’re looking for a reasonably-priced cool place with great service to hang out, play some Jenga, indulge in realllyyy good food and coffee with chilled out music playing in the background and amazing bikes to ogle at, Maverick and Farmer is the place to go.
