"VV Puram Food Street," is a culinary haven for food enthusiasts. Located in the heart of Bangalore, this bustling street is a paradise for anyone looking to indulge in a variety of delectable street foods. Here's a detailed review of my experience at Food Street:

Ambiance and Atmosphere: Food Street is a vibrant and lively area that comes to life in the evening. The street is lined with numerous food stalls, each offering its own unique delicacies. The aroma of freshly cooked food wafts through the air, creating an inviting and appetizing atmosphere. The hustle and bustle of people eagerly waiting to try different dishes add to the energetic vibe of the place. Despite being crowded, the ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for food lovers to explore.

Food Variety and Quality: One of the highlights of Food Street is the sheer variety of food available. From traditional South Indian snacks to North Indian chaats, Chinese delicacies, and even desserts, there is something for everyone. Some must-try items include:

Benne Dosa: The butter-laden dosa is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with a variety of chutneys and sambar.

Idli and Vada: Soft and fluffy idlis paired with crispy vadas are a staple here, served with coconut chutney and sambar.

Paddu (Paniyaram): Small, round, and crispy on the outside, these savory bites are a local favorite.

Chaats: From pani puri to dahi puri, the chaats here are flavorful and pack a punch.

Akki Rotti: A traditional Karnataka dish, akki rotti is made from rice flour and served with spicy chutney.

Holige: A sweet flatbread stuffed with jaggery and lentils, this dessert is a must-try for those with a sweet tooth.

The quality of food is consistently good, with each stall maintaining high standards of taste and hygiene. The ingredients used are fresh, and the food is prepared right in front of you, ensuring a delightful experience.

Service: The service at Food Street is quick and efficient. Despite the crowd, the vendors manage to serve customers promptly. The staff at each stall are friendly and eager to help you choose the best dishes. The prices are reasonable, making it an affordable place to enjoy a variety of foods.

Hygiene: Hygiene is a crucial aspect when it comes to street food, and Food Street does not disappoint. The stalls are kept decently clean. The street is well-maintained, and efforts are made to keep the area tidy, even during peak hours. Having said that, there's always scope for betterment. Food Street can do better.

Overall Experience: Food Street in Bangalore is a must-visit for anyone who loves to explore different cuisines. The vibrant atmosphere, diverse food options, and affordable prices make it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Whether you are a foodie looking to try new dishes or simply want to enjoy a casual evening with friends and family, Food Street offers a memorable and satisfying experience. In conclusion, Food Street in Bangalore is a gastronomic delight that should not be missed. The variety of delicious food, combined with the lively ambiance and friendly service, makes it a standout destination for street...

V. V. Puram Food Street isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a full-blown sensory experience. From the sizzling sounds of tavas to the aroma of ghee-laced dosas and spicy chaat, this street turns into a food carnival every evening.

📍 Location & Ambience: Located near Sajjan Rao Circle, it’s an iconic stretch that comes alive post 6:30 PM. Don’t expect a fine-dining experience — this is old-school Bangalore at its rawest. It’s noisy, it’s chaotic, it’s often overcrowded, but that’s what gives it its charm.

🍽️ What to Expect:

Vegetarian-only food — but even hardcore meat lovers won’t complain.

Legendary stalls serving classics like:

Ghee-soaked dosas

Crispy bajjis and bondas

Fresh jalebis

Masala corn, vada pav, pav bhaji

That famous floating-in-ghee banana dosa 🍌🔥

Dessert stalls serving sugar bombs that feel like childhood on a plate.

💸 Pricing: Super pocket-friendly! You can go in with ₹300 and come out full (and maybe guilty) after a street-style buffet. It’s the kind of place where you don’t count calories or coins — you just eat.

🤷‍♂️ Downsides:

Crowd management? Nonexistent.

No sitting area — it’s all standing, elbow-to-elbow action.

Cleanliness? Let’s just say it’s not for the faint-hearted or germ-conscious.

Be prepared for long waits and some shouting aunties cutting lines.

Opens only after 6:30 PM, so don’t show up early or you’ll be staring at shutters.

🎯 Verdict: Is it a Michelin-star experience? Absolutely not. Is it authentic, chaotic, budget-friendly, and worth visiting? Absolutely yes.

Come for the food, stay for the vibes — just wear comfy shoes, pack some tissues, and bring your appetite (and patience). V. V. Puram Food Street is messy, loud, nostalgic, and...

VV Puram Food Street or popularly known as Thindi Beedi is the most loved food street of the city infused as a part of Bengaluru food culture. If you are entering from Sajjan Rao circle then you will spot this on your left. Being credited as one of the first shops to be put on the street, Vasavi Chatnis is a must-stop for amazingly tasty Jalebis, Akki Roti, Ragi Roti, and Noodles. Just after Shri Vasavi Chatnis, you’ll find this restaurant to your left which is insanely popular for their authentic curd Kodu Bale. With a history of 75 years to its credit, Arya Vysya is primarily known for their crispy curd ring coupled with spicy and red chutneys. You can also try their soft and fluffy Idlis which are equally good. Idli Mane which is right next to Dev Sagar serves the regular South-Indian dishes like Idli, Dose, Khaara Bath in the street. However, this food point is famous for their Holige which is served in three varieties – Dal, Coconut, and Sugar. Moving on a little bit, if you want to try Mumbai foods like Pav bhaji, Vada pav, Tawa Pulao, and Dabeli then come to Dev Sagar. The special Rasgulla Chaat served here made with Rasgullas immersed in sweet curd with a topping of cashew nuts, pomegranate seeds, boondi, and Coriander is a must-have. You can also try your hands on Gobi Manchoori rolls, Rumali roti, and other Chinese food items. So, when you are done with everything, head to Shivanna’s Gulkun Center for some sweet note. You’ll spot this at the end of the street where you can try Gulkan Ice cream, Gulkan with raisins and dry fruits, and a Banana scoop of ice cream as per your...

VV Puram Food Street – A Mixed Bag of Flavors 🍢🌃 VV Puram Food Street is a must-visit for street food lovers looking for an authentic desi vibe and an array of vegetarian delights. The street comes alive in the evening (open from 6 PM to midnight), offering everything from classic chaats to quirky regional snacks. 🍽️ What We Tried: Pani Puri – Refreshing and flavorful, one of the best items we had. Sprouted Coconut (Coconut Apple) – Absolutely unique and delicious! Thandai – Cool and tasty. Fried Stuffed Bajjis – Decent, but not particularly memorable. Boti Masala – Tasty and worth trying! Momos – A letdown, lacked seasoning and flavor. Gobi Manchurian – Disappointing, we couldn’t finish it. Gola (Ice Candy) – Not as expected. 🍛 The street also features classics like rumali roti, tawa pulao, dosa, holige, paddu, chats, capsicum and banana bajjis, idli, coconut flower, pastas, pan, waffles, ice creams, rabdi, and more. There's something for everyone—north to south, sweet to spicy. ✅ Pros: Huge variety of vegetarian food Affordable prices Lively atmosphere with a local feel Great for trying unique items like sprouted coconut ❌ Cons: Can get very crowded Quality is inconsistent across stalls Street is quite small (just 1 city block) Some items are repetitive or underwhelming 📍Tip: Go with low expectations and a big appetite. If you're serious about great chaat, there are better places in Bangalore. But for an immersive street food experience, it’s worth visiting at least once. You might need 2–3 visits to try everything!
