|| The Orient || In a corner of the 4th floor, E Block, City Centre 1, Salt Lake, lies this beautifully designed , super amazing restaurant offering you one of the best dining experiences in town. From the lights to the music and the food to the hospitality, The Orient seems to have the best to offer and then there's unlimited fresh lime soda you might want to fill your bottles with to carry home. Excited much? Here's a view of everything they serve, fries to dumplings to delectable gravies and pastries and...ice-cream obviously(It's the best in the world. Period.). For starters, as you go swiping: 🍴 Grill chicken sausage salad 🍴 Korean style BBQ chicken 🍴 Assorted grill veg salad 🍴 Raw papaya salad with soya nuggets 🍴 Chicken Dimsums 🍴 Veg steamed Dimsums 🍴 Golden Fried Babycorn 🍴 Crispy Eggplant Salt n Pepper(no picture though) 🍸 Fresh Lime Soda I could go on talking about them all and would take as long as I ate maybe. XD The grill chicken sausage salad is simply the best I've ever tasted. It has got this sweet taste in the sauce. Nothing stands in competition. Korean style BBQ is just as nice as it should be. The Dimsums are pretty fine, nothing extraordinary. Babycorn and eggplant were really good. Who knew they'd be this impressive! The fresh lime soda they make is beyond amazing!!! Do remember me if you're tempted to fill your water bottle with the same. :P Main course: 🍽 Veg Hakka noodles 🍽 Ginger pepper fried rice 🍽 Chicken in chili sauce 🍽 Thai red curry fish 🍽 Roasted slice lamb in hunan sauce Go anticlockwise in the picture. XD I personally didn't find the staples that good. Chicken was well cooked and seemed pretty fine. Thai fish curry was, in comparison, the best in main course with the right amount of flavours and subtlety. Lamb was a good deal too. Not my thing though. Impressed with the starters and already full, the mains didn't really touch my heart. Desserts for you. 🍨 Darsaan and Ice-cream 🍨 Strawberry tart 🍨 Pineapple pastry 🍨 Chocolate pastry Buffet at 650/- on weekdays. Follow @thefoodiesfairytale on Instagram for more drool.

Absolutely loved this place! Would love to come visit again to try out the other menu items. We went to grab dinner along with family and relatives on a Sunday night at around 10pm. The dining area is a bit small, can accommodate around 40 people, inside, including the Air conditioned dining space and bar stools and around 20 people outside in the balcony. We faced a hiccup getting a table for six since they had only one large table for big groups, inside; and it was raining outside so balcony was closed. The menu was decadent and had a great spread. I was impressed with the use of authentic Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese and other popular South East Asian flavours and recipes. We ordered two Chicken starters and they were finger-licking good. In main course, we had two types of noodles and two types of rice, both of which were quite nice. And as a side, we again had chicken which were pleasant too. I ordered Jasmine Tea as a beverage since I was having a sore throat, and the staff was kind enough to prepare it for me, freshly brewed, twice on demand. The others had mocktails which were splendid. The quantity was quite plenty and thus we were mostly full except we still had some space left for dessert. And to end it on a happy note, we had an ice cream platter which actually contained more fruits than two scoops of ice-cream, but all in all it was good experience. The staff was courteous and helpful and very friendly. The service was quick and flavours were authentic and abided by tradition (except the fact that the menu had Chicken Sushi available which is blasphemous but I believe in a modern cuisine aspect, it pertains to the folks who want to experience sushi but still wouldn't wanna have raw fish). I'd definitely be visiting again soon to try the rest of the items. Inspite of a few misses, I'd definitely be recommending this place to everyone loving Asian flavours.

I had visited The Orient for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. They have three separate section-one outdoor and two indoor one for buffet and one for ala carte. Since we opted for buffet we were taken to a section which the buffet spread laid. The place as empty when we entered but it git gradually filled up by 2-2.30pm. Firstly the ambience is soothing and the decor is really apt. Coming to food, we started with the clear soup, salad and the starters served on the table. The clear chicken soup was really good and so was the salad. After that the starters were served: cripsy potato, veg momo, spring roll(not good),chicken dumpling and wok tossed crispy fish(the best❤) The main course was a spread of noodles, fried rice, chilli panner, 2 other veg gravy, chicken in a sweet gravy(didn't like much), roasted lamb with vegetables(mild and tasty) and the oriental fish in pepper sauce(really the best in main course). The dessert spread was small. It had darshan, coffee flavoured pastry, strawberry mousse, crumble almond tart and fresh fruits. However the ice cream served is unique. They served rolled ice cream( choice: kiwi, mango, strawberry) which was prepared instantly. The cost was just 650 all inclusive per head.It can even be available for 625 all inclusive from the nearbuy app. Though the tasty of the main course items were not great leaving 2-3 items, but somehow the entire spread offered was worth the money. The service is also really great and the staffs are very attentive. I would definitely recommend this place to ppl looking for a quiet place for lunch or dinner with family or friends.

Went there for a family dinner. Absolutely loved the experience, right from food to the ambience. The ambience and seating both are very cosy and comfortable. The interior design complements the overall dining experience pretty well. Coming to the dining experience- this is one of the best Oriental cuisines we had ever had in Kolkata. Preparing Sushi/Maki is a very hard art to master and I am very pleased to say that they have mastered this very good manner! We had ordered Asparagus Tempura Uramaki. Not to mention, the taste was very good and the finesse in the presentation was well visible. I was amazed at the level of mastery of the Sushi chef was comparable to one of the best Oriental restaurants in Bangalore. Along with these we had opted for the Orient speciality vegetarian noodles and stir-fried assorted mushrooms with garlic and soy as a side dish. Both the dishes were very tasty and complimented each other very well. The taste was perfectly balanced. The desert here was unexpectedly good, that can easily make a ‘speciality gourmet chocolate’ restaurant bite the dust. We ordered the Banoffee pie, vanilla chocolate bomb. The presentation of the dish will give high-end luxury hotels a run for their money, and so does the taste, both were beyond expectations. Hygiene was properly maintained with the servers wearing masks, sanitisers kept near the entrance. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant for great Oriental cuisine. Oh and don’t forget ordering the chocolate bomb!

🚩The Orient is located at 4th floor , Block E, City Center 1, Saltlake. 🚩Decoration- Pretty & cozy ambience. It has both indoor & rooftop seating facilities. 🚩Food- They are providing both A-La-Carte & Buffet Menu. The buffet prices are: ••Veg> Rs449 & ••Non veg> Rs- 549. I opted for Non Veg Buffet option. It includes- ▪️▪️Salad: 🔹🔹Glass Noodles Salad With Mixed Vegetables- This tasted quite good. ▪️▪️Soup: 🔹🔹Chicken, Garlic, Coriander & Chilli Soup With Vegetables- Flavour was intact. Tasted really awesome. ▪️▪️Appetizer: 🔹🔹Chicken Sui Mai- The chicken stuffing was so delicious & the outer coating was thin. I loved it. 🔹🔹Crispy Thai Style Fish Pepper Salt- This is perfect! Fresh fish fillet infused with different spices. 🔹🔹Crispy Conjee Veg ▪️▪️Main Course: 🔹🔹Pan Fried Sichuan Fish Dry Red Chilli & Soya In Rice Wine- Fish pieces & bell peppers sauted in a gravy flavoured with dry red chilli, soya sauce & rice wine. Spiciness at its best! 🔹🔹Chicken Hunan Style- Chicken chunks mixed in a gravy that has a perfect texture. ▪️▪️Staples: 🔹🔹Corn & Coriander Fried Rice- The rice was not too oily which is a very good point in my opinion. 🔹🔹Sichuan Hakka Noodles ▪️▪️Dessert: 🔹🔹Darshaan 🔹🔹Vanilla Ice Cream 🚩Drinks- I ordered for a Virgin Mojito & Beer. You need pay separate charges for the drinks. 🚩Staffs' Behaviour- Staffs were courteous & service was good. 🚩This restuarant is known for its excellent Asian Delicacy.
