Zuru Zuru had been on my radar for quite sometime, thanks to its rave reviews. Finally, I got the chance to eat here, and it lived up to the hype! I went on a weekday, so the restaurant was relatively calm after 15:00 hours. Given its intimate setup with just 10 seats, I imagine weekends must get quite busy, so you should reserve thru Insta DMs prior to coming.
The meal was nothing short of extraordinaryâone that lingered in my mind long after I left, a rarity in todayâs "commercialized" dining scene. I had the opportunity to explore their winter special menu and sampled several dishes:
Chicken gyoza: Crispy and well-cooked, though the filling could have packed more flavor. (7/10)
Shrimp Tempura: Perfectly cooked on the outside with tender, juicy prawns inside. A delightful crunch! (8.5/10)
Yakitori Skewers (Negima): These were slightly charred, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The cooks nailed the texture and seasoning. (9.5/10)
Nimbu Kosho Exotic Mushrooms: A standout dish and an unexpected favorite! The mushrooms were cooked to perfection with nicely fried bits, and the tangy/spicy lemon sauce added a vibrant punch to it. The quality of mushrooms was top-notch. Highly recommended. (10/10)
Tantanmen (Chicken): Scrumptious and comforting in the cold winter afternoon. The broth was the star, reminiscent of a deconstructed "tom yum soup". The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the jammy egg was a great touch. (9/10)
Cloud Pudding: A light and refreshing coconut panna cotta to round off the meal. A perfect ending!
The service was great! Quick, attentive, and courteous. The staff anticipated our needs and made the experience even more enjoyable. Their warmth and professionalism truly enhanced the visit.
âźď¸ To conclude: Zuru Zuru is a gem for pan-Asian enthusiasts, especially those who love Japanese cuisine. This really made for a memorable dining experience. If youâre planning a visit, especially on a weekend, booking a table...
Read moreZuru Zuru, a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant, is one of those places you almost want to keep to yourself but can't help sharing. Despite its small, unassuming space, the food here is packed with flavor and creativity.
The faux tuna tartare was a surprise hit, you wonât miss the real thing. While Iâm not a big fan of coconut, the restaurantâs only dessert, the Cloud Pudding, which the server insisted on was light, perfect consistency and a delicious touch of honeycomb crumbs with a subtle coconut tinge, it was the ideal finish.
The chicken and leek yakitori with yuzu offered a refreshing balance. While the warm shio chicken chintan ramen was comforting and full of depth.
But the stars of the meal were dry chorizo soupless tantanmen delivered an unexpected kick. The noodles are a true highlight a perfect bite. Along with the gyoza, ( that I generally skip ordering in Japanese restaurants but this was something else) with its perfectly crisp bottom, was flawless. The Katsu chicken, Zuru zuru converted the most generic Japanese dish into a delight!

Read moreDefinitely a must visit in Delhi (especially during the winter). The owner, Navika is a wonderful polite lady who was kind enough to suggest what we should order, explain the amuse bouche and also tell us where she purchased the tableware from! We went here because a friend recommended trying all their veg starters recently and we ended up loving everything we ordered. We started off with the Shiitake soy gyoza, followed by the pumpkin and cheese Takoyaki. Stuffed pumpkin and cheese can never go wrong and they were so yum! My favorite was the Shroom tempura and I'm not even a fan of mushroom! We then ordered the creamy tomato mushroom ramen which was not tomato-ey at all and was in fact packed full of flavour! The cloud pudding was so light and airy and soft and i don't even know how to explain it. There's only one big table and a small one, with enough seating for about 10 people so it's better to make your reservation via Instagram before you go. Try every single thing on the menu!
