Had a great experience the first time which my husband had reviewed before but our second visit yesterday was average. This was disappointing as we had high expectations and had also invited a friend who was visiting from outside with us.
Seating was immediate and the place was close to packed on both floors. We chose the 1st floor as it was more quieter.
I wanted to order the Bulgogi Pork with Glass Noodles which the Server advised will be very sweet. I have had this Bulgogi Pork before and didn't remember it to be very sweet and generally had a sweet and savoury taste to it. Eventually I decided to go with the Jeyuk Dosirak which was supposed to be spicer. Along with that, we ordered the Kori's Fried Chicken, Pork Shin Ramen and Pork Yakin Udon and some drinks. We also asked if the Chicken could be served before the Mains which the Server agreed to.
Drinks were served very quickly and tasted good. The food took a long time and after a long time, 2 of us got our Mains. We were hoping for the chicken to show up. Anyway, we were hungry and started to dig in. To my dismay, the pork in Jeyuk Dosirak was not at all spicy and was sweet. Not sure whether that's the actual flavour of the dish but the menu description was different. It was almost like a Bulgogi which I was advised against.
More disappointing was the third person amongst us didn't even get their food for the next 10 mins. They finally served the fried chicken which they helped themselves to but still didn't get their dish. On enquiring, the Server informed us that she will check and get back to us in 5 mins. You could see that they had messed up the order as they were quickly making changes and communicating to the kitchen staff. After 10 more mins, they finally received the food and we had finished ours which was a very unpleasant experience. The Yaki Udon was very overcooked, the noodles has no texture to them and the pork was tough like leather. They couldn't eat more than a couple of mouthfuls and decided to pack the leftovers.
Like I mentioned at the start, it's very disappointing when the place which really wowed you a couple of months ago dips it's standard this bad. Hopefully, this was just a bad night for them and they take this...
Read moreThe atmosphere was nice. The wooded looking walls and East Asian style seating really were comfortable and eye catching in equal measure. We ordered 3 dishes - Tteokboki, Kori's fried chicken and Kimbap. We had such great expectations from the food because of the high rating, but sadly only 1 of the 3 dishes we ordered met our standards, which frankly are not high or stringent at all. I'll keep it simple - the Kimbap was good. The Tteokboki was too sweet and not spicy enough. The fried chicken was just plain bad. People have a specific requirement when they order something from the "Korean Fried Chicken" section of the menu. - crispy fried chicken covered in that sweet and spicy Korean sauce which looks so appetizing. We had that same expectation, but instead, we got bland and plain fried chicken with like 2 teaspoons of a tomato based dipping sauce on the side. Look, I understand that it might be a miscommunication, but honestly I wouldn't be complaining here about the fried chicken if what we got instead of our expected fried chicken dish was even remotely good. What we got was bland and flavourless, the exact opposite of what we all associate korean fried chicken with, and that worsened the experience. The food portions were adequate. The service at this restaurant also needs improvement, since we were unable to get any of the service staff's attention even though the restaurant was not busy at all, and they always seemed to be in a rush. I asked our waiter to bring me some of the tomato chutney they gave us with the fried chicken (too little for the amount of chicken served already), and it turns out that it would be the last time that man would be visible in that restaurant for the rest of the evening! That man nodded and said yes to my request, and then disappeared completely. The service was cold and uninviting overall, which is why I mention that it needs improvement. I hope this review reaches the right people who can help Kori's punch up their game a little bit where it matters the most - the food and...

I have to edit my Review of Koris.. I am pro consumer and our hard earned money.. the time we spend and the fuel we use to reach a popular destination.
Today was the second trip and I will admit I shall never go here again. Sometimes the popularity makes the restaurant owners and staff so high headed that they begin to think no end of themselves. We ordered chicken sausage Kimbap ( like sushi ) totally dry, no flavour. The other dish that was so much below average that it scores -10. This was a desert : Brownie with ice cream sundae priced at almost 300₹ … does money grow on trees? The brownie was hard as rock, we took a knife to cut it .. brownie should be soft and absorbing the ice cream. My husband also tried cutting it and I’m not JOKiNG ! Our hand and shoulder is paining … we did complain but except for a mere apology no other courtesy came forward. They were rather surprised that anyone was complaining. Well before I gave them 4 stars 🌟… and that review is also here below. But now 0 🌟 is what they deserve.
My previous review of 4 🌟: We liked Koris .. comfortable seating.. music was a bit loud , but in request they turned down the volume which is commendable. Normally restaurants don’t care. Crab 🦀 sushi 🍣 was amazing. I missed the wasabi.. maybe Koreans don’t serve wasabi. The crispy chicken was also very good. We had to wait a little bit the food was worth the wait. Quantity was very good. 2 starters filled us up
but we had already ordered Ramen - soupy noodles one portion. We managed to finish everything. Only one thing though… absence of veges in the Main course dish. Some vegetables could have been added. Nevertheless a good place to visit. And we will visit again though it is a bit difficult to reach. Want to try other...
