Horrible
We went to this place expecting a rustic ambience and great authentic punjabi food. What we got was trickery and deceit. Firstly the food took a very long time coming. Not just for us but for everyone. This can be forgiven if the food is awesome. Far from it. The food is actually horrible. I will get to it in a minute. They served us unordered food. Then apologized saying that it won't be billed. Then served us our ordered food. And billed us for everything and some more. The bill included totally unordered and unserved food. When pointed out they deleted that price after some arguments without deleting the taxes they charged us for those items. They force everyone to buy mineral water and then hand over disposable plastic cups which they don't even bother to disentangle. There was no paneer in paneer paratha nor much aloo in aloo paratha. Felt absolutely cheated eating those parathas. Egg bhurji without any tomatoes. Come on.. Whom are you kidding? It took atleast three yells of reminding before we got to see things as simple as an extra roti. Needless to say, it is not much fun to wait while the rest of the food becomes cold as water. For the first time in my life, someone pointedly demanded a tip. Very disgusted. And finally both my wife and me woke up with upset belly in the night. Our whole next day was spoiled. Whatever little paneer was in the paneer parathas gave us a bad case of food poisoning. Or probably the eggs were contaminated with salmonella and cooked hastily... Whatever it was... This was one horrifying experience we could have done without.
Absolutely not...
Read moreJust visited SHER- E- PUNJAB DABHA for dinner. The place was very clean & tidy. There are dining halls & as well open sitting under metal shed.
There was half tables empty under open metal shed, but we preferred to sit in one of the dining halls. The hall was having good lighting, with wall clean with recent coat of paint. Fans were running , with air-conditioning also on, with little bit of dim lighting the ambience was nice & cool.
The waiter was quick with the menu at our table ready to take the order. We enquired with the waiter as to what was good dish to order without it being sweet. He suggested shahi paneer & some vegetable dishes. We enquired about malai kofta , to which he said it will take 25 min to prepare. Finally we ordered shahi paneer & veg jaipuri with roti.
To our surprise veg jaipuri came with thick gravy curry with all small pieces of vegetables & paneer. Veg jaipuri was great. It was served hot. ( everywhere i ordered this dish they used to serve it with butter roasted vegetables with little or no gravy)
Shahi paneer dish was served to us was having big chunks of paneer with gravy. The dish was a little bit sour, which didn't tickle our taste buds. It wasnt hot when served.
The service was okay. There were still few tables empty while we were eating at 9.00 pm. There seems to be more halls to have dinner.
There is ample parking for 4- 5 four wheelers & some two wheelers. There is also some parking on...
