If your benchmarks are MTR Bengaluru or Delhi's Sarvana Bhavan, etc. then you'll be disappointed. This restaurant serves basic/select South Indian dishes & not a very elaborate menu. So if you're just looking for Idli/Dosai/Vada etc. then it deserves a decent 4/5. It's definitely better than the South cuisines served at the recently opened Masala Chowk or at some famous hawker spots. Cost is a little on the higher side but it's understandable due to the brand & location. Space crunch is clearly visible when you enter, barely 5 tables on the floor & in case of a full-house, you can clearly hear the adjoining tables & even be a part of it if that's on your mind ;) But then, it's situated at MI Road, the busiest & heart-line of Jaipur so space crunch is something which is understandable. They have 3 floors though. Haven't tried Sagar Ratna yet, so maybe could post an edit after trying them. Staff is entirely from North but the Chefs & Manager are South Indian so there's nothing to blame on the taste front. It tastes authentic. Some of the staff members were wearing slippers, need grooming & some attention to hygiene. Coffee was served early during the meal instead at the end, could hear the Manager instructing from his desk to take it back & bring it later post the meal. Overall the staff was cooperative. A decent place to visit...
Read moreAn almost perfect place for South Indian lovers. Not the newest of places but definitely the most well kept one keeping the taste intact. This place is our must go, whenever we crave for some nice crisp Dosa.
Service: On point. They are just perfect at their job. The waiters are very well trained and take utmost care of each and every guest. Piping hot Sambhar is served even before your current bowl is finished.
Ambiance: Brilliance. Class. Simple. Nothing too fancy or Instagram-my but everything is too clean and elegant.
Food: A South Indian place is embarked by the taste of the Sambhar and this place has amazing Sambhar. Served Hot always! Dosas were brilliant. Crisp.
The only thing lacking was the Medu Vada, it was too oily and greasy. This is the only lacking thing in the entire menu.
Other than this, this place is a perfect family place for South Indian lovers. I have tried quite a few recently trendy South Indian places. But then old is gold and it...
Read moreThe reason behind my low rating is due to really bad environment of the hotel and poorest service by them. When u go to hotel, u order ur food, the same gets served and then staff who serves leaves the table. But at this restaurant they call in more staff some 4-5 waiters surround u and keeps on looking u and ur family how they eat food... Such pathetic attitude. I am really shocked, how u can see someone eating food that too he/she is ur customer. Service of this restaurant is pathetic and poor. Each item u order will take more 25mins of time. Even the easiest diah "tea" was served after 30mins. Bill came on priority basis. Please ignore this restaurant for life.
