This review is exclusively for those who want to use Zomato Gold or Swiggy One to pay the bill. This review raises the question of business ethics for this restaurant owner.
What happened: we planned a birthday party here for the evening. We went there a bit earlier to get the decor done. We saw that they had a happy hour board at the entrance which said "99 Rs for a beer". We asked the manager about it and he said we serve many different beers for 99 Rs till 10 pm on weekdays but due to lack of supply, we only have one type of beer today. We never heard of this beer called Kotesburg but what the heck, it was for 99 Rs so we said we will try it. The beer was ok. We came back with our group and continued with our party. When we wrapped up and asked for the bill, I said I will pay using Swiggy One but they outrightly refused to accept it. They said we can't offer you beer for 99 Rs and Swiggy One together.
What's wrong with this approach: there are a couple of issues here: #1, they were not upfront about this. They knew that we will spend a good 10k for the evening and they were not upfront with their policy of not accepting Zomato or Swiggy as the form of payment if you take the beer for 99 Rs. #2: there is no sense in this logic as we could have just had beers and then closed the tab, paid for it and then someone else could have ordered the food and closed that tab only for food.
The owner herself was there and said I can't take the payment on Swiggy as I have to pay them some more % or whatever. She was overall nice and even offered us some test recipes she was trying. But we couldn't understand this logic at all, if you don't want to honor these payment services, why do you even have your restaurant listed in their database? Neither you will become richer by earning an extra 1500 rs nor will we lose out a lot. What matters is the business ethics which clearly are missing here.
So my advice is, if you are going here and if you are planning to pay via Zomato or Swiggy, better clarify upfront and not have an embarrassing situation at the time of...
Read moreThe worst experience one can expect from a restaurant that is in the middle of the city. We kept a meeting and this is how the owner Sonu meets. I had sent her various messages about the meet well before the meet. There was no response nor from the owner nor from their manager. She literally ignored them and gave excuses when I meet her. But, basically they did not have any manager at all. The way this person Sonu dealt was so bad I have done so many events but the way she behaved and dealt with the event just because it was a little low budget was pathetic. This is a real incident and a real me. Sonu firstly did not respond to any of the messages that was sent to her in personal and then shortened the menu that was decided because she is so cheap and pathetic. Its also a shame as I came to know that she is from BNI. Being in BNI I had heard that they have good hospitality as I had experience in Jaipur Modern and so on. But, Sonu and her attitude were no where in hospitality at all.
During the event there were only 2 staff given to us. This event was on their rooftop. No air or no setting of anything that could help anyone sustain in the torching heat that now Jaipur shall be addressing, but no facility at all. Also, the restaurant was empty and yet 2 staff who had to go down and come back. If an event occurs there are various things that goes on. Arrangements and so on. So the 2 staff could either serve us time to time or do the arrangements. They kept on running, but we struggled because we had a time lapse because when we needed anything to be served there was no staff available we would wait or keep on calling excuse me, but it was no point.
The food was ok. But the hospitality was terrible and when you do not have any other people coming up then why not lend staff to an event or be available yourself. I hope this goes as a complaint to all the big organizations like BNI. Because the deal that was made with her was not so smooth nor good or...
