I ordered butter chicken and when it arrived, I couldn't help noticing that the meat had a distinctively smoky flavor to it, indicating it had been smoked prior to the preparation of the dish. But then again, they do call themselves Charcoal Restaurant after all. The preparation itself was top-notch, and their head chef is undoubtedly a culinary genius for them to use this recipe.
The place itself is airconditioned and spotlessly clean. They appear to be adequately staffed and there must be space for some eight cars in front. But that is not all there is, they also have a large parking ground a few metres away – and this parking area could accommodate another 10-20 cars. The restaurant is well-managed, and I hope they continue to remain this way.
The upper floor has a lot of wireframe chairs for seating, so if you or anyone in your group is aged or has a bad back, it is recommended that you choose to be seated on the ground floor, where the seating is cushioned. And there are benches beside the tea stall (also operated by them) right outside the ground floor seating area for you to wait to be seated in case this section is full and you would like to be seated here.
In case you do not like to wait, they do accept reservations if you can let them know of your arrival in advance. Kochi needs more of these restaurants that serve clean, hygienic food as well as provide a great family-friendly atmosphere without being too expensive, so I'm giving them a five-star rating. Feel free to give them a try if you are looking for a taste that is different...

Visited the restaurant with my family on Sunday.
Attractive ambience. Responsive service.
Ordered Chicken Lollipop, Al-Fahm and a Sandwich Shawarma. Food was average at best.
The shocker came when we ordered dessert. My 10 year old son had ordered two scoops of ice-cream. To our horror, found pieces of broken glass in it! No idea whether we ingested any by mistake.
To avoid a scene, discreetly insisted on speaking to the manager. The waiter sent the "Asst Mgr" who tried unsuccessfully to hush it up. The Sr manager was summoned. Again insisted on hushing it up, albeit while apologising profusely.
I insisted on speaking to the owner so that they would give it the seriousness it deserved and find a QC or process solution.
Finally, on the threat of escalation, connected with a "partner" (not sure if he really was) who promised to make amends and destroy all compromised stock of the ice-cream.
Paid the entire bill (sans ice-cream) and left. Refused their offer of a discount.
To be honest, their guarantees didn't reek of sincerity.
Therefore this post, so the management will on their toes w.r.t customers' safety. And customers can also be vigilant.
If this recurs, it will be now clear that it wouldn't be the...
