I came here based on a memory from LAST YEAR, a memory that has now been completely and utterly RUINED! This isn't the same restaurant, it's an absolute TRAVESTY!

Let's start with the so-called "service" – a complete JOKE! They clearly have NO idea what decent service even looks like! It was slow, inattentive, and frankly, the staff acted like they were doing us a FAVOR by even acknowledging our existence.

Then there are the PLATES! Good heavens, they looked like they'd been dug up from some ancient archaeological site! Yellowish and OLD! Are they seriously still using the same plates from when this place FIRST opened?! It's disgusting!

And the FOOD! Oh, the FOOD! We ordered Mandhi Rice and their "Chicken Special." What a load of utter NONSENSE! The Mandhi Rice tasted like PLAIN JEERA RICE! Where was the flavor? Where was the aromatic goodness of proper Mandhi? It was an INSULT! And the "Chicken Special"? HA! It was nothing more than FRIED CHICKEN with some pathetic excuse for gravy slopped on top! You call THAT special?! My grandma could make something more exciting! There was NOTHING special about it! It was UTTERLY ORDINARY!

This entire experience was terrible. We travelled 30km from our home to visit this restuarent. But my whole family is beyond disappointed! What a HORRIBLE decision it was to come back here based on a past experience!

Let me be CRYSTAL CLEAR: I will NEVER be setting foot in this spot again, and I will actively discourage EVERYONE I know from even considering it! My rating is not just below 1, it's in the NEGATIVE! AVOID THIS PLACE ! You'll...

Thakkaaram Restaurant in Ernakulam is a culinary gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience, particularly for those who appreciate authentic Kerala flavors. The food here is exceptional, with the beef biryani standing out as one of the best in town. The biryani is a perfect blend of spices, tender beef, and fragrant rice, making it a must-try dish for anyone visiting the restaurant. The overall menu is diverse, catering to various tastes, yet maintaining the essence of traditional Kerala cuisine.

The ambience at Thakkaaram Restaurant is another highlight. The decor is a tasteful mix of modern and traditional elements, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes diners feel comfortable and relaxed. Whether you're here for a quick meal or a leisurely dinner, the setting enhances the overall dining experience.

However, one aspect to be aware of is the crowd. Thakkaaram's popularity means it can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. This high demand can sometimes lead to longer waiting times and a slightly rushed service. Despite this, the staff is generally attentive and does their best to ensure that each guest has a pleasant experience.

In summary, Thakkaaram Restaurant in Ernakulam is well worth a visit, especially if you're a fan of Kerala cuisine. The food, particularly the beef biryani, is top-notch, and while the crowd can be overwhelming at times, the overall experience is...

I had visited thakkaram with my family followed by my few visits with my friends.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a variety of dishes including Pathiri, fried rice, Chilly Chicken,Beef Stew and Kuzhi Manthi. I was particularly impressed by the extensive menu that showcases a large variety of dishes reflecting the rich culture of Kerala. The presentation of the menu itself is reminiscent of an old sale agreement letter from Kerala, which adds a unique touch to the dining experience. Starting with the Pathiri, it delivered a wonderful taste that melted in my mouth and paired beautifully with the beef stew. The fried rice was also commendable; it contained a satisfying quantity of vegetables and chicken. The Chilly Chicken complemented the fried rice nicely. The rice was not exceptionally good so it not that marked upto the level. Chicken was ok with it. Except the manthi we enjoyed the hospitality and service by the staffs.we will definitely make frequent visits.parking space is available for large no of vehicles. Moderate price range is also...

I regularly visit the newly renovated Thakkaaram restaurant in Chalikkavattom, and it has consistently been a pleasant experience. The ambiance is appealing, and the food is enjoyable. One dish that stood out was the Arabikkadal biriyani (Rs.290), a unique fish biriyani with chemmeen, koonthal, and Neymeen, offering well-balanced and delicious flavors. I also tried the Alfahm manthi (Q.Rs.240) and Neymeen manthi (Q.Rs.340), both satisfying options. Thakkaaram's menu is diverse, featuring the noteworthy Cheese porotta (Rs.80), a delightful twist on the traditional porotta. However, the price of the Boost kulukki (Rs. 60) felt a bit high. The restaurant offers two dining options: a side open area on the top floor and an indoor dining area, both equally appealing. The interior design creates a pleasant atmosphere for diners. Here are my ratings for some items: Normal Chicken Biriyani: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Veg. Meals: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Kannur Cocktail: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Boost Kulukki: ⭐ ⭐ Paneer Pineapple Stew: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

This is a very nice place for a good and hearty meal. They have good variety of authentic Keralite dishes. The prices are affordable. Fish is expensive but that is how the case is anywhere with fish. Neymeen will cost you 390. A combo of pathiri, ghee rice, mutton curry, grilled chicken and lime juice will be around 500. This will serve two people. The price cannot be called very cheap but if you are a tourist looking for good Keralite food at an alright affordable price, this is a good option. The quantity you can see from the pictures below. The combo has 6 pathiri and one small plate of ghee rice. The endearing quality is they don’t compromise on taste. The fish is slathered in spices that will make you crave for more. The mutton succulent enough to make you satisfied and the chicken juicy enough to melt in your mouth. They have some good puddings also that you can taste. Try out their coconut items. Overall, a must try place if you are near vytilla, Kerala.
