Restaurant Review: Chillax Redto Cafe

As an adventurous food enthusiast, I often find joy in discovering new culinary experiences, from the exotic to the comforting. However, my recent visit to certain establishment left me utterly disappointed and questioning my choices in life. Regrettably, I must share my review of what can only be described as the worst food in the world.

Ambience: Upon entering the restaurant, my hopes were momentarily lifted by the stylish decor and cozy atmosphere. Soft lighting and elegant furnishings created a promising first impression. Unfortunately, any semblance of hope was quickly shattered by the abysmal fare that awaited me.

Service: To their credit, the staff appeared and disappeared. They promptly seated me and provided the menu, which boasted an assortment of dishes from various cuisines. It was with hesitant anticipation that I made my selections and awaited their arrival.

Food: The first dish to arrive was a greasy, unappetizing mess masquerading as chicken stir-fry. The chicken itself was overcooked and resembled a rubbery substance more than anything else. The vegetables were limp, devoid of flavor, and seemed to have been boiled to the point of complete exhaustion. It was a lackluster attempt at a dish that should have been vibrant and full of life.

Next came a seafood pasta dish that could only be described as a blend of sadness and disappointment. The pasta was overcooked and clumped together, resulting in an unappealing, mushy texture. The so-called seafood consisted of a few rubbery shrimp and some indistinguishable bits of fish that were anything but fresh. The sauce, if you could call it that, was watery and devoid of any discernible taste.

Finally, I summoned the courage to try their dessert, hoping it would redeem the disastrous main courses. Alas, the dessert was no exception. The supposed "chocolate lava cake" arrived as a dry, crumbly mess that resembled an unappetizing hockey puck. The so-called "lava" had solidified into an unpalatable chunk, lacking any trace of the desired molten richness.

Overall Experience: In my gastronomic journey, I have encountered some disappointments, but this restaurant unquestionably ranks among the worst culinary experiences I have ever had. The lackluster food, despite the promising ambiance and attentive service, rendered the entire experience forgettable for all the wrong reasons.

I sincerely hope that the management takes note of the myriad issues plaguing their establishment and undertakes a significant overhaul in their culinary offerings. As it stands, this restaurant's reputation as the epitome of awful cuisine is well-deserved, and I strongly advise any discerning diner to steer clear.

Very Dirty!!! Terrible Food!! Staff shortage!! Altogether an Absolute worst experience. The worst management. The owners if ure seeing this!! Please take care of ur cafe- its falling apart. Save it if u can.

Seriously, If I had an option to give zero stars - I would really do that. Visiting this place is a complete waste of money and time.

Years before, the condition of this place was far better and we used to visit often. After moving from kochi, I couldn't come here for a long time. But today I went there. Ordered afgani chicken and pulled beef sandwich, afgani chicken was horrible - tasted so bad - no particular flavor. And the pulled sandwich was feeling smoky and burnt.

Food was bad. The atmosphere was way more sickening. Soo dirty. Filled with flies and mosquitoes.. No proper air conditioning. I was wondering about how the place changed. All my hope was placed on the food and that disappointed me big time. Went there to relive a memory but ufffff came bak wid a terrible memory.

At the billing counter - I asked and I understood about the change in management. And that explained these terrible changes. The one who served and the one at the reception had a warm attitude, but how can that count when everything else is in such a terrible state.

The service staff was struggling as he was the only one to clean and serve. And almost all the tables were filled. (Nearly 9 tables 🙄)

And the wash area, I must sayy the dirtiest in this restaurant. I had to take drinking water to the basin to wash. 😭

Paying and having to go through all of these is...

I do visit this place at least 3-4 days a year and it will be no less than that. I really like the wide variety of food items available in their menu. I ordered butter naan, egg Schezwan fried rice, prawns roast, paneer tikka, milk shake and a mushroom masala as well. Out of these items , prawns masala was prepared in a creamy or what we can say, an American/ North Indian gravy and I recommend to prepare that in Kerala style gravy which seems to be more spicy and red in colour. Using the Kerala spices, it will make them more authentic and tasty. Apart from that it will be really good if it is more spacious by joining the billiards room and the chillax restaurant room as one and make interior designing focusing on the ambience. Also, a parking slot or parking space for at least 5-7 cars at a time is really recommended. I know that it is Ernakulam city and the plot price will be very high but just consider this only as a suggestion and wish that could happen soon. Thank you...
