BAR-B-Q on Park Street, Kolkata, is a culinary gem that offers a delightful fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisine, making it one of the must-try restaurants in the city. Located in the heart of Park Street, the restaurant has long been a favorite for both locals and tourists who crave a hearty, flavorful meal in an elegant yet welcoming ambiance.

One of the first things that stand out about BAR-B-Q is the friendly and professional staff. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warmth and courtesy. The wait staff is attentive without being intrusive, and their knowledge of the menu is impressive. I had a few questions about the dishes, and they were more than happy to assist with recommendations, making the overall dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear that the restaurant prioritizes customer service and goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Now, coming to the food, I ordered the Garlic Chicken, Bar-B-Q Special Chow Mein, and Bar-B-Q Special Fried Rice. Each dish was a treat for the taste buds and left me wanting more. The Garlic Chicken was perfectly cooked, with tender, succulent pieces of chicken that were bathed in a flavorful garlic sauce. It had just the right balance of spice and sweetness, making it a great starter to kick off the meal.

The Bar-B-Q Special Chow Mein was another highlight of the meal. It was loaded with generous portions of chicken, prawns, and egg, all tossed in perfectly stir-fried noodles. The dish was a burst of flavor in every bite, with each ingredient adding its own texture and taste. The prawns were fresh, the chicken was well-seasoned, and the eggs added an extra richness that brought the entire dish together.

The Bar-B-Q Special Fried Rice, much like the chow mein, was packed with ingredients and flavor. It was a hearty portion, with large chunks of chicken, prawns, and egg. The rice was cooked to perfection—not too oily, but flavorful enough to stand on its own. The prawns were again a standout, adding a touch of luxury to the dish, while the chicken and egg provided a satisfying bite. What impressed me the most was the quantity; the portions were more than sufficient, making the meal great value for money.

The ambiance of BAR-B-Q is both cozy and upscale, striking a balance that makes it suitable for family gatherings, casual dinners, or even special occasions. The restaurant is always buzzing with energy, but the service remains prompt and efficient, ensuring that you don’t have to wait too long for your food.

In conclusion, BAR-B-Q on Park Street is a restaurant that truly stands out in terms of both food quality and service. The dishes I tried were all packed with flavor, and the portions were generous, making it a fulfilling dining experience. The staff’s friendly demeanor and professional service further enhanced the meal, making it a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Kolkata. Whether you’re a fan of Chinese or Indian cuisine, BAR-B-Q has something for everyone, and it’s undoubtedly one of the must-visit restaurants in...

This is a fine dining restaurant. This restaurant is located at park street. We went here to have lunch. The restaurant is on 1st floor. But old people and handicapped person don't need to worry since they have a special lift for elderly people. We entered the restaurant and was told to wait for 30 mins. We waited for 10 to 25 mins and fortunately they gave us a table. We sat down and took some rest and looked at the menu. We then decided to order one Chinese starter and one Mughlai starter. We ordered Green and red pepper chicken in Chinese and Chicken Reshmi Kebab in Mughlai starter. We waited for long time and my dad ordered a Kingfisher Premium Beer. The beer was served quickly and they also gave complimentary Cheeselings. Since my dad was drinking we also thought to order something else for us . So we ordered a chicken Wanton Soup. We waited for sometime and were served with Chicken Wanton Soup. The soup was clear chicken soup with greens and steamed chicken momos inside the soup. The soup had a lot of spinach leaves which made the soup more tasty. The momos inside the soup were delicious, juicy and tasty awesome with the soup. The soup required a little dash of salt and pepper. After finishing the soup we waited for our starters. We waited long but there was no sign of our starters. So we asked the waiters whether our starters are ready or not. They told us that it would take 5 to 10 mins more. So we waited for some more time . And after long waiting time we were served chicken Resmi Kebab. They also have green chutney with the Chicken Resmi Kebab. There were six pieces of chickens. The kebabs were nice and tasty. As soon as we finished the Resmi Kebab we were served with Green and Red Pepper Chicken. There were six pieces of chickens. We thought that it would be spicy since it said green peppers. So we thought it meant chillies. But instead it turned out that is was green and red bell peppers 😅. The chicken was cooked nicely. After finishing the starters we relaxed a little. After relaxing we then checked for the main course. We had planned to try some gravy noodles so we asked them whether they had any gravy noodles. They told us that they had gravy noodles named Pan Fried Chicken Noodles. So we ordered the same. After ordering the main course we took a walk around the restaurant. After returning to the table we waited for some time. And we were served with Pan Fried Chicken Noodles. The noodles were juicy and delicious. The noodles was also fried as the name suggested. The fried noodles gave the noodles an extra zing. The noodles had a lot of mushrooms . There is also a bar section in the restaurant. We had planned to try some desserts but couldn't have since we were full . According to me the service was a little late. Overall experience...

The Indian-Chinese cuisine at this iconic Park Street restaurant ticks all our boxes as foodies! Flavours of China and Bar-B-Q each have their means of entry, dividing the noshery into two distinct regions based on the decor. One is red and minimal, and the other features Chinese calligraphy and art to represent the Chinese side of the luncheonette. We set foot in the Flavours of China and got amazed by the electrifying ambience. The hasher served the eats in a jiffy!

This is what we ordered:

Mixed Cantonese Noodles (₹310) Prawns in chilli oyster sauce (₹573) Garlic pepper chicken (₹355) Non-veg Cantonese Rice (₹320) and Fresh lime soda (₹90) Let's have a fresh look at the tuckers.

Mixed Cantonese Noodles (₹310): Cantonese pan-fried noodles are popular in Hong Kong. They're crunchy, chewy, and full of smokey, yet savoury flavours. The stir-frying cooking method results in crisp rims and a chewy inside texture for these smoky-flavoured noodles. In a flavour-packed savoury sauce, it is rapidly stir-fried with crunchy veggies like green onion, chives, and mung bean sprouts. It was replete with Shiitake, Portobello and Button shrooms. Shrimps and chicken were also bounteous. What we enjoyed best was the sparing use of spices. Despite its enticing looks, it was light on the tum!

Prawns in chilli oyster sauce (₹573): Crisp and juicy king prawns were done to turn in savoury oyster sauce. The tang and heat were just perfect. Prepared in an Asian style with perfect concoctions of ginger, garlic, pepper, and a wide selection of condiments! The flavours were bursting into the mouth to give a thrilling gastronomic experience! With the hot Cantonese noodles, it was a perfect side dish!

Garlic pepper chicken (₹355): This quick stir fry features a dash of black pepper, soft and juicy chicken, beansprouts, spring onions/green onions, and a generous amount of garlic. The sauce is produced with common grocery store components such as chicken broth, cornstarch, Chinese cooking wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. One bowl contains eight super tasty boneless chicken pieces. It went well with the Cantonese Rice.

Non-veg Cantonese Rice (₹320): It got a hint of classic Chinese Fried Rice. It was so well cooked that each grain of rice could be put asunder! Also had a golden look which is indicative of its superb seasoning! Replete with shredded chicken it was perfect to seduce the tastebuds!

Fresh lime soda (₹90): We used this as a palate cleanser. It was truly refreshing.

The Flavour of China is moderately pricey. But given the quality of the food, it's surely a bang for your buck! Strongly recommended.

Pocket Pinch: ₹1800 (for three) Cuisine: Chinese Must try: Cantonese Noodles, Prawn in chilli oyster...
