This one is the worst ever restaurant opened in Kolkata...the one recently opened in southern avenue next to Silver Oak restaurant..located at the prime location, but this restaurant is not doing justice to it's location or to any of the restaurants opened in this area. We were 10 ppl decided to try this new restaurant for lunch. We reached around 2pm n waited for 2 hrs to receive our order which was in total 7 items.... we requested many times to serve the food since we had 4 kids with us. Yet they kept saying 5 mins more and the food never came.... then we had to literally shout to which they were deaf to their ears. it didn't matter to them at all. They delayed n delayed... and food was served after 2 hrs.
The Food - just horrible.. price is such high but quantity n quality is simply bakwas... the presentation was also horrible.. The lemon butter fish was Rui fish with bones. . . chicken steak had 1 small pc of chicken.. the sautee vegetables served were not sauteed and was raw... the bell peppers were raw..the food was not palatable..
The staff - Arrogant, ill- mannered, inexperience, illetate, noisy, deaf, liar.. We requested so much for the food to serve... yet no response.. The table next to us also were waiting for their food since 1.5 hts.. They were just 2 ppl and had ordered only 1 dish.. yet they had to wait for tat long... Wen they complained that will give negative review... The staff shouted on them n threatened them to call the Police.. what kind of attitude n customer service is this??? they r in service industry and inspite of being apologetic of serving late and bad food.. they threatened customers that they will call the police... what an audacity of a restaurant which is 2 days old... And why will they even tell such things...
Pls Pls my fellow readers, zomato users, Foodies whoever is planning to visit this restaurant.. Wud request pls don't waste your money, time, happy moments, or ur mind by going to this unworthy restaurant.. just by opening a restaurant with all decors doesn't mean that u r even worthy for a visit.. It's not...
Read moreThere is a saying in Hindi, Oonchi dukan phiki Paakwan This Cafe is an embodiment of the above. Sunday morning after our invigorating walk feeling sufficiently energized and hungry we walked in to Bunophile. Was mightily impressed by the ambience and proceeded to order. And the the faux pas started. On asking for milk on the side with my Darjeeling tea was told would b charged extra !! The tea and coffee was served almost instantly after placing the order. But what was strange was the way the tea was served. In a mug!!! No pot no nothing. Obviously the tea was bitter. On telling the waiter he indignantly said " I should have said so while ordering " Surprise surprise in most cases all unless it is unlimited beverage joint the tea/ coffee is served along with or after the mains. My partners order came, Mushroom & Cheese omlette. There was a side order for a sausage which was conspicuously missing. On asking was told " it's on its way '. Ohh by the way the Omlette was not hot despite the FIFO method they followed. Subsequently my order of Eggs Benedict arrived along with my partners Sausage order. Only grouse please learn how to make a Holandaise Sauce with quality roux. But I must say the salad was really nice. Fresh & and lovely dressing. When the bill arrives it included a service charge . Being optional i asked them to take it off the bill. This they did but not before asking for my phone number. I had asked to speak with the manager. Was told Mr Sultan would come at 3:00 PM. The staff at the cafe did not have the number!!!. When asked who owns the cafe was given the name Paromit Dey. He even spelt it out. Now ofcourse I know it is Sonika Dey. An ardent appeal to Ms. Dey your Cafe has a wonderful location, great ambience creating great expectations, please let the service & food match or even exceed the...
Read moreFood - below average. I can’t exactly pinpoint what it is, but all the items we ordered were missing something, be it the fish fingers, the strawberry shake or the Caesar salad.
Seating - we took a 4 seater table in one of the rooms The chairs are heavy and the wooden designs below the table are so closely placed, it doesn’t allow 2 adults to sit side by side comfortably. Given that the cafe is not too spacious, they could have made use of lighter seating.
The day we went, the card machine wasn’t working & customers were not forewarned. As luck would have it, it created chaos when a customer did not have enough money to pay for their order, or have Google Pay. Thankfully the manager stepped in & sorted it out. Such incidents are quite embarrassing for a customer, as we all know.
To add to all this, there was this one woman trying to make interesting adultish conversation with the manager on how it’s impossible that a customer wouldn’t have enough money on them to pay for their order ! How immature to actually think a customer would try to swindle a cafe of some paltry 700 Rs. I can safely say there are days when I move around the city C/o my credit & debit cards !
And immediately after this fiasco, I noticed a prospective customer (in his joggers) count his money before leaving !! He must have come for a quick cup of cafe after his evening jog ! Hope the manager didn’t take this woman’s baby talk too seriously. 🤣
All in all, I didn’t enjoy the experience & wouldn’t go there a...
