I generally never give any place a negative review to any restaurant or cafe but this time my experience was just so horrible that I had to write it down. I do understand that during Durga puja all the restaurants and cafes are pretty packed up & busy but that is no excuse to treat your customers badly, but providing bad service. The cafe I am talking about this newly opened cafe located on the 6th floor of Gariahat Spencer's. I did hear good things about this cafe and thought of trying out this cafe. And I had visited this cafe with a friend of mine. Since it was during Durga puja I did give them a call to ask if they are taking reservations as many places do take reservations but they said they don't take reservations and let me make it clear I have no problem with that. When I reached the cafe I saw it has three different sections two of the sections were quite full and we were asked to sit on the rooftop area the table they asked us to sit at was wobbly so we asked the person who took us to your table to change it and asked if we could sit at the table next to us as soon as we asked that they put a reserved sign on the table and said it was reserved, just remember the part earlier where I have mentioned that when I asked them if they are taking reservation they said no and now all of a sudden tables are getting reserved. Now isn't that amazing? But after telling them about the table repeatedly they changed our seat realizing the problem. After that, the waiter gave us the menu and went away we were sitting there for over half an hour and after repeatedly calling them to take our order they paid no head but finally, someone came to take the order and then the long wait again and the waiters and management people are always busy talking among themselves or over the phone and do not attend tables even when they are being called. Finally, the food arrived we had ordered one Classic Neapolitan Pizza, 2 Summer Collers, and 1 Chilli Garlic Noodles. The pizza was okis but it was totally cold, the noodles were tasteless and the drink was too sour. The waiter who was serving us the food was not at all trained and thus he had spilled some of the noodles on the table. The table we were not sitting at was torn from most of the places, the cushions in the chair were torn as well. Since now a day it is a common thing in all cafes and restaurants to have sanitizers on the table and they also make sure to sanitize your hands when you enter the place but they had no such thing. There was no sensitization at all and there were no sanitizer bottles on the table as well. To be honest •The place has no maintenance at all • The staff is unprofessional, untrained and they don't know how to greet guests. • The waiters and the management people non were wearing masks ( yes I am saying this as pandamic has not yet gone and all the cafes or restaurants I have visited post pandamic are taking really good safety measures.) But here there was no such safety measures taken. •They don't listen to your feedback and they take hours to take your order and serve cold food. •The floor had wooden panels that is coming out of its seating. • The tables And chairs are made of cheap plastic and the stitches from both the table and chairs are coming out. • The cushions on the chairs are torn. • They have a swing chair ( the ones that you commonly seen in most people balcony or house these days) that swing is hung for a mental pool and that pool has rust on it. It seemed that the swing was previously owned by someone. The cushion in the swing seat was torn as well. How can such a newly opened place be such a mess?
I am disappointed with the food, service, and behavior of the staff and management at this cafe. I don't think I am ever going to visit this place ever again.
But I hope they will try to improve their management and food so that other people visiting the place don't have to face what I and my friend had gone through. Its a request to the management to look into the matter and improve on the points that I have mentioned was not up...
Read moreThe pictures are misleading. It's not that big as how it is shown in pictures. Also, most of the portion of the place is booked, so as a walk-in, you will not be allowed to sit as you wish, especially the rooftop, etc. for what most of us would go. All the best places will be booked for parties, etc. So, you as a walk-in will get the corners no one would like to sit.
The staff was courteous though. But again, they will be mostly busy attending the booked parties. Other reviews also have mentioned, so it is definitely a management decision to prioritise pre Booked parties over walk-in. The least amount of attention will be given to walk-ins. This is the biggest drawback and it gets you.
Food is good. May be not great but good. In fact very good. It is a vegetarian joint. Considering that the menu is very well thought. But then it is much more expensive than it should be given the overall experience and the food portion considered. This place is not that great to command the prices.
Now, coming to the rooftop concept, it needs a skyline or nature that kolkata does not really have. So, you are left with views of Kolkata view of flats. This joint also suffers with the same. Please do not fall for the photoshopped views. The pictures that show the fancy skyline is just made up.
So, because of all these points it is just plain way too expensive than it should be. The prices do not justify the ambience, food or the service. It is a basic Bistro that will attract teens or folks who are not yet out of the teen mindset, with a few hukka thrown here n there you can fool a teenager, but you will be shelling out a lot more than what you get back. Kolkata itself has much better places with the promised views and services. This is not that place.
Please stop watching youtube vloggers like foodzpah, insideOut and others. I fell for their reviews for a couple of places but now I realise after a couple of visits to places based on these vloggers recommendations that these are paid advertisements because they are well known. And these vloggers will sell anything with their "closed eyes" if the businesses...

Located near Gariahat at the top of Spencer's, the best part of Cloud Social is the breathtaking view of South Kolkata. The lounge itself has 4 different sitting areas with 17,000 sqft space. From beautiful chairs to swings as a sitting arrangement, this place will obviously catch your attention. Plus there is a beautiful dome area just for private occasions. They also have an amazing concept of 'Shop while you dine' where you can buy any of the furniture you like there from their furniture shop beneath the lounge.
Cloud Social is a pure vegetarian place. The dishes which I tried here were,
• Charcoal Dahi Kebab - The kebabs tasted quite good and went well with the chutney on side.
• Urlai Kebab - These Urlai Kebabs were the best thing in the menu. Baby Potato kebabs filled with delicious masala, it is a must-try dish for sure.
• Mini Slider - The sliders were served with fries and mayo on side. It was a quite nice dish.
• Mezze Platter - is an assortment of small dishes eaten as appetizers or a light meal. In this platter we had Pita breads and Falafels served with hummus, baba ghanoush, khus khus and hung curd.
• Napoleon Pizza - The pizza was really cheesy and tasted quite amazing.
• Afgani Naan with Dal - The size of the naan is quite interesting and it went well with the dal makhani.
• Motichur Cheese Cake - A beautiful cheese cake topped with delicious motichur, a perfect way to end the meal.
• Pan Cigar Roll - Though Motichur Cheese Cake won my heart, this Pan Flavoured Cigars were quite delicious too.
From the mocktails section I really enjoyed their Strawberry Rose one.
So if you wanna enjoy some good vegetarian food while enjoying the beautiful views of the city with your people then You have to visit Cloud...
