2nd December 2023 (with updates in 2024) The Roasted Chicken Sandwich (Rs 55) was perfectly done and delightful! The bread was crunchy and the filling hit the right note. It's hard to stop at one.
The Afghani Chicken Puff (Rs 50) was good too. It would taste better if heated properly. The microwave wasn't functioning and they were using an OTG to heat. So it was taking longer to hit the puff and I stopped them on the way to have it served.
The shop gives the right cake shop vibes! There's a tiny seating area at the front too.
I tasted its chocolate cakes in office and they were very good! The prices are reasonable. It's worth coming back.
Update 24th March 2024 Tried the chicken spring roll (Rs 50), Moroccan Chicken Harissa (Rs 50) and the cheesecake (the one other than the blueberry- Rs 100). The spring roll had the perfect crust and adequate, flavourful filling, but the chicken chunks could be more and they tasted a tad dry. The Moroccan Chicken Harissa is a sandwich with the filling of the same name. The bread is the kind used in bread items in a cake shop. The filling was tender and a spicy but the chicken was dry and bland. The chicken in both needs some work to improve to a desirable level. The cheesecake was decent but it was a bit dry too.
Update 2nd May 2024 A drastic fall in quality! Ordered the Roasted Chicken Sandwich (Rs 55) and Mustard Fish Sub (50) both of which I had liked few months back. The sandwich had similar dry chicken chunks which I have mentioned above in my March update (see above) that killed the taste. The overall taste of the filling, the seasoning etc which were on point last time were far off the mark this time. The fish sub was a bigger disappointment! It didn't feel like mustard and the fish was tasteless. I don't think there's a good reason to go back to its savouries. Mio Amore has better options any day.
27th December 2024 Pleasant surprises in Chicken Spring Roll and Chicken Shawarma Wrap which I had in a birthday treat in the office. The spring roll had a thin wrapper with the right amount of chicken and veggies in the stuffing that was full of flavour. The Shawarma Wrap also had adequate and delicious stuffing in a soft bread. The stuffing was well seasoned with the desired heat from the black pepper. Both were good...
Read moreGood food quality, very good ambience and service. Today morning we (my wife and myself) had Jamaican chicken sub, Belgian chocolate torte and capuchino in this bakery. All were good (4.5/5). And prices are absolutely reasonable. There we had a good conversation with Indrajit and Lokesh who indeed displayed a deep sense of attachment and ownership to the shop and the products which I personally noted with great interest as these are qualities that one may rarely find in Kolkata enterprises nowadays. We wish to try a few different items there in the near future. I wish a great success to this confectionery and pray that it maintains the ethics and ethos what they...
