Read moreKoshe Kosha is an excellent, superb and fantastic choice for everyone who wants to experience authentic Bengali food! It is a fine-dine aesthetic Bengoli restaurant where you will find the classic bengoli interior with the old-school furniture adding beauty to its aesthetics, the black and white tiles and the wooden blinds on the window takes you straight to the 90s! The food was simply out of this world and extremely flavourful and delicious! I had ordered a starter Bhetki fry which was simply yummy! It was a deep fried crispy, crunchy and muchy dish with soft and tasty fish inside that just gives you the joy of crunchy and flavourful fish to my surprise I was not able to spot any oil in it as well! In the main course we had ordered Mahabhoj pabda and mutton thali which easily serves 2 adults. It had Plain Rice, Sona Muger Dal, roti/Basanti Pulao, Two types of Bhaja of the day(very famous Baigun Bhaja which was awesome and aloo bhaja which was very similar in taste to Uncle chips salted flavour). Two types of Sabji of the day(aloo phulgobhi and a mix veg, the mix veg was fine kindish but the aloo Gobi was very well cooked and homely). Salad, Chutney of the day(aam khatta), Papad, Misti(very soft and famous rasgulla), mutton curry at the very appropriate spice level with 2 tender mutton pieces & ofcourse the showstopper of the thali pabda fish curry which was extremely flavourful and savoury! It is a must try!!! The only thing I didn't like was the service, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great as well it was very average, the staff's behaviour was very average they served main course and starter together and didn't give a walkthrough of which dish is what, which is a usual gesture in fine-dines. Rest koshe kosha is a must try...
Read moreThis review is entirely based on the expectation you have keeping in mind the amount of money you are paying.
First things first- Parking facility - Although they have a parking available but no-one is assigned to help customers. You never know whether you have parked at the right place till the time you get in the restaurant and confirm.
Hospitality - No one will be there to open doors for you. You expect all these since you are getting inside a high end fine dining restaurant.
Service - Don't expect the staffs to be proactive enough to serve you food. If you ask them to do so, they will do it for you but with no common etiquette. They will serve sides on the left even after observing that you are a right handed person. 😁😁
Most important part - The food.
Bhetki Fry - 2 medium pieces will cost you ₹305. Okayish. 3/5. One was over fried resulting in black scars all over. Trust me, you will get better stuffs all over kolkata. Even, now a days, you will find better quality stuffs in some para outlets as well.
Basanti Polao - Very disheartening. Rice used was not of top quality. Forget about top quality, it was not even close to it. You will not get any flavour of ghee. Or it might happen that the nutmeg & mace powder used has overpowered the smell of the ghee. The probability of nutmeg/mace smell overpowering is less though, as the rice tasted dry ish. 3/5.
Mutton Kassa - Mutton quality was good. Taste was also good. But I expected a bit more flavour of garam masala. Otherwise what happens, you don't get the punch. 4/5.
That's it. Hope, the admin and team takes this feedback in a positive way and try to close the gaps if they find the review...
