Mabrooks Cafe — Restaurant in Kolkata

Looks quite beautiful if I talk about the decore of the cafe. The cafe is on 5th floor, and if you want to enjoy the nature around, then the roof top is on 6th floor, where also they serve. The cafe is neat and clean with a constant music played by a DJ from the 5th floor. They serve mocktails, shakes, Indian, Chinese , Italian, hookah etc. No alcohol I guess. Food was tasty and quantity was satisfying, price is also okay according to the place it is situated at. The Chili Mint Mojito was seriously tasteless, though the colour was red and there was a slice of melon on it , it was like drinking water with mint leaves, and we were said it's spicy but believe me it was not at all spicy. Another shake was Nutella brownie shake, it taste liked the bournvita shake. One can try strawberry blossom which was really tasty, cold coffee with ice cream was also good. They have wide range of food menu to choose from which is a plus point. Staffs are quite soft spoken, but among those staffs who were incharge of attending guest, not talking about all, but two or three were there who where not professional at all. Lemme tell you why ? We 9 ladies went there altogether, from which at first 7 ladies we went inside and 2 joined us later. So we ordered 7 drinks. When a staff came to pick up the empty glasses, he told us to keep all glasses at one end of the table so that he can take them easily. First - this is not an etiquette to ask the guest to keep the glasses at one end of the table. Second - while serving plates, one of the staff asked us to pass on the plates to the ladies sitting at the other end of the table. That staff could've easily went to the other end and served the plate. But he choose to ask the guest to pass the plate. Third - while we were waiting for the other 2 ladies to join us , after we ordered drinks, staffs standing at the counter was constantly staring at us for the order, which was seriously making all of us uncomfortable. Fourth - when we asked for a bill. A staff came with a pen and a note to one of us( who was a kinda regular customer there , and the staff knows her very well) to my surprise, instead of approaching from the front. He approached from the back of her and called, she couldn't hear him first time due to loud music. So what he did was poked her with a pen to call her. That's not how a staff should call a guest.

Okay first let's talk about all the positive things about this cafe So starting from the ambience its totally instagram worthy and you can get alot of amazing pictures over here. They have two sections one is for those who loves to enjoy warm cosy vibe which is in the fifth floor and if you more into chilling vibe then you can enjoy the rooftop which gonna give you an amazing scenario. Now coming to the most favourite part of every foodies out there so lemme tell you they do have alot of variety cuisines to offer their guest and the taste are pretty decent . The price is more or less affordable and the "strawberry blossom" is a must try beverage over there. We went there without prior booking and we were 9 people and they managed to give us a decent seat . The sheesha was amazing. So now coming to the negative side So first the "chilli mint mojito"was so gross to taste the staff who was in-charge of our table told us that it gonna taste spicy but it was just the opposite,i know the tolerance of spiciness differs from person to person but if its mentioned chilli then guest would love to get the strong chilli flavour instead of mint dipped in water. The most thing which I hated was some of the staffs were unprofessional.if a guest goes to a particular place and spending their bucks over there so in return we would expect little bit of professionalism from the staffs.attender is not allowed to ask the guest to hand him the empty glasses that's not a hospitality etiquettes,we would have done that by ourselves if he wouldn't have asked us to do that we do have humanity but asking and that also not in a polite manner it really offended us,and I would really say please stop making guest uncomfortable by watching them continuously if guest wants to place the order they will do it let them enjoy the nature. Anyway that's the only negative side which I found in this cafe instead of that everything is good and must visit place . From their menu we've tried: ◾ Golden Fried Prawn: Honey glazed fried prawns were sweet nd spicy version of Prawns with sweetness nd spiciness of house spices nd served with chili sauce. Those prawns were just scrumptious

◾Murgh Afgani Tikka:Succulent 6pieces chicken come in a plate of full kebab platter, absolutely droolworthy, chicken well marinated nd cooked .

◾ Cheese Burst Chicken: Cheese Burst chicken is a must have dish if you're visiting Mabrooks. Crisp nd soft fish served with a lot of French fries.

◾ Chicken hakka noodles with chilli Chicken: Loved the texture and the different flavours of theses noodles where crunchy veggies & chicken chunks meet sweet nd tangy Sauce & create this lip-smacking noodles. Boneless chicken are coated in a savoury sauce & then tossed with some green chilies and ginger slices and cooked with their house sauce. A perfect side dish that you can eat nicely with noodles.

◾ Hyderabadi Biryani: The perfect delight for every hyderabadi biryani fanatic, speciality in insatiable with delectable flavours nd the juicy nd tenderness of chicken served with full of barista. . Now come to the mocktails section,just love the presentation of these mocktails. Each mocktails presentation is so unique and different in taste. . Overall we had a lovely experience here.
