A perennial favourite of teenagers, who love to gupshup here, Mayaram serves Pav Bhaji Special and Pav Bhaji Ordinary. Both come as half and full and you can also add extra bread or opt for masala bread based on your palate. Where: 1/2 Lord Sinha Road Timing: 11am – 10pm Price: Rs 90 onwards

Our Capitals, Other than their popularity for magnificent architectural and natural beauty, stands on a pedestal for the various scrumptious delights they have to offer. Maharashtra, home of vegetarian titbits and gourmets, is also the place where pav bhaji has originated.

Steaming thick curry of mashed vegetables, sprinkled with coriander and butter as a garnish, the term Bhaji originates from Marathi terminology. This spiced mixture is best enjoyed with soft buns lightly toasted on a hot tawa. The buns are colloquially known as ‘Pav.’ Initially cooked for fast lunches of textile mill workers, this popular dish now can be found in various food outlets ranging from simple hand carts around lanes or markets to high-end restaurants in India and Abroad.

Kolkata, the city with a retrospective aura, also gifts various food joints, offering delicacies not only of Indian states but also various international cuisines. Pav Bhaji accounts for the popular items for busy office goers or a memory of late afternoon at a...

Once a iconic place, a crowd puller now gone bust... Paid parking available on road, but was disappointed to see the mess area has become. Lots of roadside food stalls nearby selling momos, chaats, sandwiches, shakes etc. The place is tacky, although the taste was good 👍🏻 but the quantity was just for a snack. They boasts of selling thali etc. but the food was not available due to cooks. Only Maya Ram pawbhaji and fridge cold momos with some shakes available... No tea/coffee. This place was bustling with crowds a decade ago due to no competition, now everywhere there are shops, Street vendors, restaurants selling paw bhaji. I would say if you want to eat paw bhaji then princep ghat or near scoop alongwith Ganges will be the right choice, atleast one can enjoy the view. Nothing special...

Mayaram PawBhaji Wala is very famous from its old time. This place has the best PawBhaji in Kolkata. People from nothern Kolkata gather here to have this PawBhaji. The restaurant also provides woth other various dishes like Dosa, Uttapam, Chowmin, Pizza, Sandwiches, Thalis (containing sabji and roti). According to the location situated the price is a bit higher than expected but you wont regret eating food here. It also provides different types of drinks like Soda-Sikanji, Shakes and similar drinks. Parking availability in front of the restaurant is low as it is situated in a narrow road plus the road has two...

I've visited Maya Ram quite a few times and tasted many of their popular dishes, but posting a review today because I dropped by again and finally tried their famous Pav Bhaji. It wasn’t bad at all — buttery, flavorful, and satisfying, though not the absolute best I’ve had. The pav was soft and nicely toasted, and the bhaji had a good balance of spice, though I personally would’ve liked it a bit more tangy. The place always has a lively vibe with quick service, and it’s a good stop for anyone craving classic Indian street-style snacks in a clean, central location. If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely worth a visit!
