Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting OneTon, a cozy eatery renowned for its momos and Chinese cuisine. Opting for the Chicken and Pork Momos alongside a serving of Chilli Garlic Noodles and Mixed Mei Foon, I was eager to experience what the hype was all about.

Prior to my visit, I perused numerous reviews, setting my expectations straight. Unsurprisingly, OneTon didn't boast extravagant decor or top-tier service. However, the unanimous praise for their momos intrigued me.

As I approached the counter, manned by two diligent graduates from IIHM who doubled as owners and chefs, I engaged in light-hearted banter. Despite their modest infrastructure, their dedication shone through. Their passion for delivering quality food outweighed any concerns about ambiance.

The food itself surpassed expectations. The pork momos rivaled those of high-end establishments, packed with flavor and juiciness. Each noodle dish was generously portioned, easily satisfying three moderate appetites. The Chef's recommendation, the Chilli Garlic Noodles, was a standout, perfectly balancing spice and flavor. These 4 items cost me close to Rs800.

At OneTon, what you'll find is exceptional food crafted with sincerity and integrity, devoid of unnecessary frills. Despite the lack of fancy decor, I left thoroughly satisfied and already planning...

This little restaurant in the Lake View Road has one of the biggest hearts in the city. I have been here more than I thought I would. The menu is a mind blasting combination of some of the fiery yet delicious Asian food and an adventurous discovery of ice creams and sorbets. That makes it a bit difficult to decide what to order 😁

But since I have been here frequently I have a favourite and that's the dreamy melt-in-your-mouth PORK MOMOS. Generally I order something else after I eat these. Soft and genuinely flavourful momos paired with a well balanced sauce are just a wonderful blessing in this rainy season. Apart from the stuffing the momos have dedication, passion, love, friendship and so much more. Hours pass by before I even realise it. The best part is when I am about to finish my momos, I somehow get a feeling that I will be back for this.

Now why would I suggest these to people in Kolkata. I can describe it as IT MIGHT NOT BE THE BEST MOMOS OR THE PERFECT MOMOS IN TOWN, BUT IT HAS CERTAINLY GOT A POTENTIAL OF BECOMING YOUR FAVOURITE FOR SURE. So if you're having a bad day, this might be a cure and if you are already having a good day, why miss this from your day😊

So thank you Chef Shiladitya and Chef Sourjya for introducing this to Kolkata. I guess it's a " much needed" kind...

Once in a while you come across such outlets in this city which you might never forget after the initial visit. These places etch a place in your heart just because of the food- including both the variety and the quality of it. Oneton is surely a name to be put on this list. Amazing food, humongous portions and top notch quality are few terms that describes them the best. Their menu is majorly consisting of Oriental cuisine with touches of innovation that the Indian palate would appreciate. Not to forget, that to end things on a sweet note they have an array of self-produced icecreams, sorbets, coolers, shakes and what not! You can pick anything from the menu and the chances are that you would definitely like to come back for seconds. But their momos, ice creams and sushis are the real show stealers. The best thing is apart from the items on the menu, Oneton always tries to introduce new items almost every other week. Definitely a place which will be known to all...

All in all, it's an average eatery. The concept is amazing, so kudos to that. Never thought you could eat sushi on the roadside in Kolkata! Coming to the food Crab and cream cheese wantons- 6.5/10, the cheese and crab filling was going well together but it was crispy enough so make up for it! Dragon roll- 5/10, the rice was very very chewy, otherwise the prawn and cucumber was fresh. I could have done without the cucumber too though. Salted caramel & walnut icecream- 8/10, the vanilla base was very refreshing and light and the caramel sauce and walnut pieces added to the flavour! They have stools for sitting and there's plenty of space in front of the eatery.
