I recently dined at Jorasanko Bengali Restaurant , a Bengali restaurant that promises an authentic taste of Bengali cuisine
The restaurant features a warm and inviting atmosphere with traditional Bengali decor. The interior is adorned with cultural artifacts and vibrant colors, creating an immersive dining experience.you will witness some few glimpse of Jorasanko in photos. The resturent offers a same menu for a week. So you may not get the same dishes what I had. In the starter there was begun vaja, fish fry, dry chilli chicken. Those tasted really awsome.you will not able to stop yourself from putting one more fish fry in the plate. But Hang on !!!!! Your taste buds are yet to experience the mutton kasha with luchi and white rice. Bengalis first love is mutton kasha and white rice but I prefer mutton and luchi. You can take both. Mutton is really well cooked . If your are a fish lover you will definitely disappoint ,,,prawn curry they made is not good . For vegetarian 🚫 in starter they only have mochar chop and in main course only one panneer dish. Coming to desert there was gulab jamun ,papad and chutney.
Overall experience is good but I must say it's one time visit type of buffet or resturant.
Price-600+gst It's the mostly same amount what we pay for barbeque nation or absolute barbecue. Very few items they are providing in this price Even every time you want to fill the starter you have to go to the counter, they will only serve you the water. It may be upgraded from their side . Location -Rasbihari Avenue near desopriyo park. How to reach- we go there from jadavpur so we took the...
Read moreOrdered for Dab Chingri as per the strong recommendation from the service person/waiter but Chingri Malaycurry was delivered. When asked for clarification, the person mentioned that they are same (!!!) Nowadays "dab" has some insects, so they are not using "dab" in dab chingri !!!
Next day when called and asked if they have "dab chingri". They proudly said - "yes ofcourse, it is our signature dish". When asked if they served "dab" in dab-chingri, they said ofcourse...."how can dab-chinhri will be "dab-chingri" without dab...was their proud reply.
Asked again, do they have it today...again the proud answer was "yes ofcourse".
They guy with wiom I talked claimed himself as an accountant and when asked for the manager..the answer was - "the manager is now resting". Called another day and then also the manager was resting...left my number and requested if the manager can call once he is out of resting. As of now, no calls recileived. So, felt like cheated. Will surely never go to this restaurant again.
Food is usual and nothing extra ordinary. The tables are not fit for bengali dishes but good for one pot meal or pizza. Decor though is...
Read moreToday I was at Gariahat for my Polia Baisakh shopping and like always I planned to hit Hatari after I was done shopping. But just as I was coming out of Adi Dhakeshwari "Jorasanko" struck my eyes. With a greater detail I was elated to find a bengali dine in at such vicinity. To be frank at first I was a bit skeptical but still thought of trying my luck and I must say it the best bet of the day. The FOOd quality was the ultimate showstopper. Unlike the other Bengali dine ins, Jorasanko marks it's uniqueness and freshness in terms of its beautifully curated Thakurbari menu with a hint of twist(just as their tag line states), it's freshly made food right out of the oven, its simple yet attractive decor and most importantly it's hospitality. The owner himself makes it a point to check on every guests and their requirements. They have both buffets as well as al-a-carte spread, with a mere pocket pinch, owing to the quality and the quantity served. Also, extra brownie points for its location - so if you are at Gariahat for Poila Boishakh shopping - Jorasanko is your go to place, right next to Adi Dhakeshwari and Saraang building in...
