Gist of the review, Restaurant is good, price is quite reasonable, but i gave 3 star, why? I am comparing pouhing with Tung Nam, and kimli of tapsia, and I found they are better than this place. Taste is almost authentic Chinese and mind you guys this is not kolkata Chinese. Quantity is quite good. Now full Review. I ordered 1 plate pouhing special Rice 1 plate green pepper chicken 1 plate Chicken Black garlic Pouhing special rice is a mixed fried rice with mushroom prawn egg chicken pc's, i find the rice lil bit hard to chew, actually for fried rice we need to fry the rice lil bit so may be it actually makes it lik bit harder. And i get lots of raw smell of prawn, chicken, may be this also the part of the authentic Chinese thing but i don't liked it at all. Green pepper chicken is good there are cube size chicken pc's almost 20 sorry for not counting , and these chicken cubes are not coated pure chicken tossed in pouhing special sauce. After taste you will feel lil bit spices in your tongue. Black garlic chicken also good but nothing new in this dish, total 8 pc's are served in this dish, and yes the pieces are coated but quantity size is enough for one person even 2 person can enjoy with one plate rice and chicken. Final thought this is not a must visit place for me, i have mixed experience and most probably i will not visit here again, if i am in this locality I would rather visit tung nam again. I have attached photos as well please check them as well. Thank you for reading, i will com back with another review till then stay safe...
Read moreLiterally in real terms it can be said as a hidden gem of the city. Along the top notch restaurant in the city, without any luxury and modern amenities it can give a run to them. Coming to the food, we ordered:
Chicken Clear Soup: We took small portion and asked them to make it 1/2, though the portions were good and accompanied with good amount of chicken. The taste was pretty mild and it has slurry texture which I thought made it taste much better than others
Chicken Volcano: It is the game changer in their entire menu. Topped with a small portion of fried egg and tossed in a red hot sauce gives a magical aftertaste of sweet and spicy. The chickens were also very soft and fried with a minimum amout of coating.
Chicken Fried Rice: After a pretty long time got the authentic taste of chinese fried rice. It has flavour of soya sauce and vinegar which we used to get earlier in reputed chinese eateries. The rice was properly cooked and well topped with chicken and egg bhurji. Really pleased to taste a fried rice like this after a pretty long time.
Hong Kong Chicken: It tasted different from the other restaurants. It contains small chunks of chicken not big pieces. The taste was really like a old chinese eatery and perfectly goes with the fried rice.
Other than the food, the behaviour of the staffs are really nice and ambiance may not have any luxurious amenities but kept nice clean with a decent seating capacity...
Read moreWhenever I use Pou Chong sauce, I get the flavor of Pou Hing. Its another gem at Territi Bazaar. Position wise is much more convenient and is having an open to all view.
Once inside, you will get to see a clean Chinese house meeting hall turned eatery a typical of Sino-Calcuttian style. Though this eatery lack pork (a must for Chinese people) but the menu style, size and taste they offer is phenomenal.
I started with Pou Hing Special Soup which was a updated version of Mixed Sweet and Sour Soup whose taste was asper the Chinese palate. A pinch of salt and pepper did the trick.
Then I turned my attention to Mixed Steam Rice and Pou Hing Special Chicken. The amount of non veg items that was provided in one portion of rice was more than enough which was further enhanced by the Pou Hing Special Chicken. This chicken item was having a perfect balance of Kikkoman Soya and Nam Pla (Fish Sauce), honey and rice vinegar. All in all the food was awesome.
This shop also features their own condiment brands of Pou Chong. Do visit it to get a glimpse of a good Sino-Gourmet.
Price wise its pocket friendly and features additional retail outlet.
P.S....This eatery do not provide any mode of online payment so guys do not forget to take cash...
