Amar opened few months back and what a welcome addition to the area that's mostly dominated by Swati Snacks and their restricted cuisine, though I do like their food but their menu is very limited and that's where Amar has an upper hand with a mix of Indian, Italian and Chinese cuisines.
Not just the cuisines but the restaurant is spacious with cushioned seating and walls brought to life by funny caricatures depicting life in general.
I have been here thrice and ordered for home delivery many a times now. In all that I have tried, there is nothing that I did not like.
Cream of Broccoli Soup, thick and creamy, is for those who do not like their food all too green. For the health conscious ones, I recommend the Broccoli and Almond Soup which has more of the nutritious green vegetable along with generous amount of almond flakes.
Their Veg Manchow and Minestrone soups are a bit different from what I have had elsewhere in that the former wasn't overloaded with garlic and ginger as mostly places do, the spiciness was well balanced while the latter hardly had any pasta but had lots of zucchini and a tangy flavour.
From their Baked Dishes, I recommend the Spinach Cannelloni that is served with two pieces of toasted and yummy garlic bread. The pasta sheet is stuffed with broccoli, spinach and yellow peppers, topped with a sinful layer of cheese, sprinkled with a little oregano.
The White Risotto with colored peppers, zucchini and brocolli is good if you like risotto.
Their thin crust pizzas weren't available when I last visited, so I had called for a Crispy Schezwan Pizza which was the normal Indian pizza with shezwan sauce and Chinese type toppings.
Among the Indian food, there aren't many options in terms of the main course but I loved their Veg Frankie and South Indian dishes but I was surprised they don't serve Medu Wada. The Pav bhaji was okay.
I suggest you stick to the Continental cuisine as they do a good job of it. Next time you are around Bhatia Hospital and craving some good and varied vegetarian food,...
Read moreI had high expectations from this branch since I have been to their other branches. Giving it two stars just because of the food service at their other branches.
Quality of food: We ordered a Jain tawa pulao. It seemed to be made in a hurry. No doubt there was so much rush, but it lead to negligence in making the dish. The vegetable pieces in it were too big to eat. Taste and quantity was good. The raita served along with it was very sour and salty. We also ordered a tomato basil soup, which had a strong flavour of basil. Tomato taste was negligible in it. Also there were lumps in it, suggesting that it had high amount of corn flour in it. Also it looked like there was artificial red colour added to it. Also the prices mentioned in their menu uploaded on Zomato were totally different. Almost a difference of around 80-90 rupees for each item. We were okay with this price increase but it was disappointing to see that they don't care about updating with new prices.
Service: There was a long queue and we had to wait for almost half an hour for our table. The service was quick but the quality was compromised as mentioned above. Also they asked if we were done ordering and they put the bill on table. It is not good to see the bill while we are still just done with half dinner. Let us eat peacefully! We are not running away without paying money.
Ambience: The look of the place is good but very congested. Washroom is not maintained well and the dustbin inside was just over flowing and there were used tissues all over the place. Terrible experience.
I wonder how this place is just so hyped when in reality it is worst out of all their branches. I would recommend to go to other popular veg restaurants in this area as this should be...

Amar, a pure vegetarian restaurant, is actually pretty famous all over Mumbai for its food and the taste is consistent all over! Recently they opened up their restaurant at Tardeo opposite Bhatia Hospital at Shop 1, Nawroz Mansion. They offer a mix menu of Italian, Chinese as well as Indian Cuisines with which they started with a healthy competition. They also have a valet parking which is actually required in the busy street and they also offer home delivery.
The restaurant gets pretty full by 8pm so we recommend to visit early or be prepared to wait for sometime in the waitlist. Restaurant is spacious and has cushioned seats and funny caricatures depicted on the walls. We haven’t visited this restaurant but we called for a home delivery.
Ordered: Brocoli and Almond Soup, Pav Bhaji, Idli Chutney Sambhar, Tava Pulav, Risotto
Brocoli and Almond Soup was healthy, nutritious with green vegetables and some generous amounts of almond flakes. Pav Bhaji was good and we will say better than Sardar Pav Bhaji while Idli Chutney Sambhar was average as compared to other competing restaurants; Tava Pulav was tasty. Their continental dishes are better than the sounth indian dishes. Thin crust pizzas were not available so we ordered Risotto which was with coloured bell peppers, zuccini and brocolli which tasted good and it’s a good option if you like risotto.
Overall a decent place to try vegetarian multi cusine food whenever you are next time around Bhatia Hospital / Tardeo. Staff is good and quantity of the food is also fine along with good quality.
Always hungry for more !!
