Time for a little backstory - despite coming to Mumbai every year all through my childhood, l'd never actually eaten in the Khau Galli due to the paranoia around falling ill easily. This time around though, I braved through the paranoia to indulge my inner foodie. And I am so glad I did because it led me to delicious fusion food at Cheese on Fire (Outside, Kesharwala Garden, 101, Khau Galli, Sindhu Wadi, Ghatkopar East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400077). With a fiery grill and expert hands, this stall is renowned for its variety of momo, pizza, and pasta dishes. We started off the meal with an order of 6 pizza shots to warm up for the meal ahead! A tiny pani puri stuffed with pizza sauce, cheese, and a drop of hot sauce, the dish didn't have too much of the 'pizza' aspect but was delicious nonetheless. With just the right amount of cheese, the tiny puri was filling without being too cloying while the pizza sauce and hot sauce added a tangy and spicy kick to the dish. On the whole, it was a great segue into the Paneer Tandoori Momos. Watching the Paneer Tandoori Momos being grilled was an experience on its own with the staff quickly flipping the stuffed momos on the tandoor to give its signature smoky flavour. The essence of the momos lay in its crust this time around - the charred flavours of the grill brought out the comforting paneer flavours within, made only better with the variety of chutneys and eggless mayonnaise (highly recommended if you have not tried it already) on the side. In conquering the Khau Galli apprehensions of my childhood, I stumbled upon the culinary gem, Cheese on Fire, and it was a revelation of flavors and fear-defying indulgence. Should you find yourself in Ghatkopar suddenly craving either momos or pizza, l would highly recommend checking them out!

🔸MONACAN: Monaco base with veggies and herbs and ofcourse with lots of cheese Only problem you can have is if you don’t like monaco, otherwise you'll love this item.
🌟 PIZZA SHOTS: Again, veggies with lots of cheese bit this time, in a puri. So if you don’t like the biscuit base, this is the one to go for. This was the best part of the visit. In one shot your mouth is filled with veggies and lots of cheese and the puri goes well with it. A wholesome experience🤤
🔸BUNK BED PIZZA: A double layer pizza i.e. One pizza on top of another. The base of the second one doesn't stick properly to the pizza below, so eating it is a little messy. Wouldn’t try this again.
