Hotel Malvan Kinara — Restaurant in Mumbai

Had visited here with my wife. My wife had ordered a Surmai thali and I had ordered Paneer Koliwada.

Unfortunately, it was one of the worst meal experiences we have had. To set the tone bad, the owner Mr. Pradeep came off rude while addressing our table availability enquiry and food order. He didn't seem hospitable at all.

Let's keep hospitality aside and talk about the real deal — food. The food was absolutely below average. My wife was terribly disappointed with the taste and portion size. She asked the owner about replacing her small-sized Surmai fish which was lacking taste, punch and dull in appearance. Mr. Pradeep replied saying this is how they do it everyday and no one seems to be complaining ever. I believe he needs an awakening.

My order of Paneer Koliwada was no different. Bland in taste, appearance and steeply priced. The portion size of dishes in thali are not enough for one person with decent appetite.

Overall it was a ridiculously disappointing experience. Please do yourself a favour and visit some other seafood restaurant. Not...

Good place to enjoy sea food. But a bit expensive compared to the variety they serve in a thali. There are other similar options nearby like chaitanya which are a much better experience at almost the same price. We had ordered a thali which came with almost nothing other than the fish fry piece, which was the only thing worth. You order a chapati or bhakari, you don't have any accompaniment to it. You have to order something extra. The fry was also not marinated and tasted normal. We have a craving to have malvani food and so we had no option due to peak timing and long waiting hours at other locations. Restaurant needs serious upliftment in ambience as I don't think the owner has ever shut shop...

Worst hotel ever.. horrible.. if you want to die, you go and try eating in this third class low graded, terrible quality food hotel. South indian's sambar tastes better than their chicken gravy. They don't deserve to add the name "malvan" to their hotel. Being a proper malvani myself, I know the taste of malvani food better. The food they offer in this hotel is worst than a "street dhaaba". Total waste of money and time. Their hotel service is worst, waiters and manager are deaf and dumb people, they won't listen to your complain and argue with their customers.
