Dear Friends,
This is with respect to our recent visit to Malad Social which is located in Inorbit. Never ever visit this restaurant. I'll give the reasons why. But still if u visit then read the below story and then only make payment.
We 6 cousins visited Malad Socials on 26/04/2024. We ordered food and drinks and were having a good time. Then we asked the waiter for a bill (attached herewith) where we were charged a service charge of 10%. As per law payment of service charge was optional. Now the real story begins. We requested our waiter to kindly remove service charges and bring back the revised bill. To this request he started to argue and force us to pay service charge to which we told him that if you had serviced us then we will pay you separately to which he argued with us for good 10 mins. Also please make a note that malad social has an offer that if we make payment from paytm then we will get an additional 5% discount along with additional credit card offers and vouchers. Now we asked the waiter to call the Manager and here comes the biggest villain Mr. Maloy who is a mid 40s man with black specs. We told him to remove the service charge and asked for a revised bill to which he said it's ok to not pay service charge and make balance payment but we cannot give paytm and other credit card discounts which confused us and we started asking questions to him. After repeatedly making him understand that service charge is optional to pay by customer to which he said that how can I claim 2 discount coupons together (service charge removal which he was referring to as discount and paytm discount). He was saying we will not allow you paytm discount if u dont pay us service charge. Luckily a cousin of mine is working in the hotel industry so he knows the software DotPe which Malad Social is using for billing. After discussion he showed his real colours and started abusing me and my cousin âTu kya tera baap bhi bharega pura paisa. Nai bharega to tumlog ko kisiko jaane nai duga and marugaâ. This happens at around 12.30 AM at night in inorbit mall. We were utterly shocked as we even had girls with us. We immediately asked him to call the socials owner to which he said âwo kya karega, wo to saal me 1 baar idhar aata hai and mera kuch nai ukhad payega. Usko ya uske baap ko complain kar me nai dartaâ. Horrible person for Socials brand to keep as a manager who threatens the customer and doesnât respect his owner. I will show u the bill calculation as below what was the legal amount to pay and this is utmost important for all my friends to make a note while making payment at Malad Social hotel.
We were charged Rs. 6973.00 as per attached invoice
Actual invoice should be as per below bifurcation
Total food amount = Rs.2119.00 Gst 5% = Rs.106.00 Total food amount with gst = Rs.2225.00 Total drinks amount = Rs.3750.00 Vat 10% = 375.00 Total drinks amount with vat = Rs.4125.00
Total Food + Drink = Rs.6350.00
Paytm 5% discount = Rs. 317.50 + credit card additional disc Rs.250.00
Difference = Rs.1191.00
We argued with him and denied to pay any additional money where he got extremely furious as we were not giving up on our argument and finally after hearing our arguments, other customers also joined in and supported us and he finally agreed to take the discount and we finally paid Rs.5780.00
Mr. Maloy was extremely rude and had no sense of talking to customers or having any knowledge about bills and calculations.
I request all my friends to pls fight for this and do...
Read moreHorrible experience. Worst staff. Awful food. Greasy, small portions. Food comes nearly an hour late or not at all. At Social in Inorbit mall, the seating hostess lied about prices and portion sizes to lure my 74 year old mother in. The ceiling had water dripping on the seat from the AC. The server could not guide us on the app that was supposed to be used to place the order. It was glitching but we somehow did our own troubleshooting and got it to work. They took nearly 45 mins to get a single dish out. They only brought two dishes from the four that were ordered. The third dish came over an hour later. It was the wrong dish. The staff was arguing that we shouldn't go by the pictures on the menu. We patiently explained that we had ordered the dish because of the components and associated side dishes etc. Then we showed the staff the description and clearly none of the items in the description were present in the dish and the side dish they had presented it with was clearly the wrong one. Then we showed them the description of a dish nearly half the price of this and the components and side dishes etc matched. Then they couldn't deny that they had brought the wrong dish in. We canceled that order. The last item of the four items initially ordered hadn't come in even one and a half hours after having reached the restaurant. We told the server this and he lied to our faces that we had placed the order only ten minutes ago. Thankfully I had the WhatsApp message from the app that we had used to place the order. I showed him the message and the time on it. He still didn't apologize or even acknowledge that he had lied. Finally we had to cancel that order as well as it hadn't arrived. It was the worst possible experience I could have had on a family outing. The seating hostess had no sense of guilt or compunction about the fact that she had lured an old lady who was roaming around in the mall to come and eat there. She had said the biryani will easily feed three people. The portion was so tiny that it wouldn't even have been enough for one person, let alone three. She outright lied and then didn't even bother to ensure that the old lady she had duped would have had a pleasant experience. The server who couldn't help out with the app actually got upset and put the used fingerbowl water in our water glass to drink. Luckily I saw him so stopped anyone from having that water. This place needs to close down. Inorbit Malad is a nice mall and such establishments that ruin a customer's experience also ruin the image of the mall they are...
Read moreI visited Malad Social some time back and overall, the drinks, vibes, and atmosphere were enjoyable.
The crowd was lively, and I was having a great time dancing. However, a particular incident marred my otherwise positive experience.
I ordered a small portion (30 ml) of Old Monk, but when I inquired about its availability, the bartender, Mr. Sagar, initially claimed that they donât stock it. I found this puzzling, especially since it was clearly mentioned in the menu. When I questioned him further, he didnât have a satisfactory response. Instead, he attempted to upsell me an expensive dark rum, "Plantation," assuming I wasnât in my senses due to being on my third drink.
What was more disappointing was his reluctance to acknowledge the availability of a more affordable dark rum, Captain Morgan, and the delay in revealing the price. I eventually had to approach the cashier myself to get the pricing information.
This felt dishonest, like the staff were trying to push more expensive options on unsuspecting customers. Despite raising the issue with the manager, Mr. Mondol, who assured me he would "talk" to the bartender, I am not confident in the outcome. It seemed like either the manager was complicit or had failed to properly train his staff. Either ways, not a good sign.
Because of this experience, I decided against ordering more drinks and took my business elsewhere.
Itâs unfortunate that this one negative encounter overshadowed the good vibes and enjoyable time I had earlier.
As a loyal customer, I expect better transparency and honesty from a reputed chain like Social, and I hope they take steps to prevent this from happening to other patrons in the future.
I advise people who don't want to be cheated tovisit nearby outlets like The Irish House.
Was planning to gv them a 5, but its sad that I am giving them the rating that you see here.
I â¤ď¸ this brand and hv had amazing experiences at their other outlets in Mumbai.
This outlet , sadly, falls flat , because of the unprofessional behaviour exhibited by people like Mr. Sagar and its...
