New Punjab Restaurant & Bar: A Mumbai Institution

New Punjab Restaurant & Bar is a well-known spot in Mumbai, loved for its authentic North Indian cuisine and lively atmosphere. It’s a great place for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy flavorful dishes in a casual setting.

Food:

⭐ Delicious and Flavorful: We tried the mutton biryani, chicken biryani, malai chicken, and lung fung soup, and the taste did not disappoint. The biryanis were rich in flavor with perfectly cooked rice and tender meat, while the malai chicken was creamy and well-seasoned. The lung fung soup had a comforting warmth with a well-balanced taste.

⭐ Wide Variety: The menu offers something for everyone, from vegetarian delights to meaty specialties. Whether you're in the mood for appetizers, main courses, or desserts, there’s plenty to choose from.

⭐ Good Quality & Quantity: The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of ingredients is evident in every bite. While the prices may be slightly on the higher side, the overall experience makes it worthwhile.

Ambiance:

⭐ Lively and Energetic: The restaurant has a buzzing atmosphere, making it a great place to dine with friends and family.

⭐ Casual and Cozy: It’s a casual dining spot, but it can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours.

⭐ Limited Seating: The space is a bit cramped, so making a reservation is recommended, especially if dining in a larger group.

Service:

⭐ Friendly and Efficient: The staff is attentive and welcoming, ensuring a smooth dining experience.

⭐ Fast Service: Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was quick, and our food arrived in a timely manner.

Overall:

New Punjab Restaurant & Bar delivers on taste, offering delicious North Indian dishes in a vibrant setting. While the seating is a bit tight and the prices slightly high, the flavorful food and quick service make it a place worth visiting. If you’re in Mumbai and craving biryani or classic North Indian dishes, this spot is a...

We were on the hunt for a place which wouldn't burn a hole in the pocket for a drink and a bite, and having exhausted all options in the vicinity, we searched for places a little further, and zeroed in on New Punjab. We arrived to find the place partially occupied, which was a surprise given it was a Friday night. Taking a table upstairs, we started off with some Bacardi and Smirnoff. To munch, we ordered Chicken Black Bean Sauce, and it turned out to be a really good choice. Quantity was more than average, the chicken was not too stiff, but what made the dish delicious was the sauce. Spicy and tangy, it encouraged us to try some more of the menu, so we followed the starter with the mains. Chicken Rahara with Butter Roti was the first to arrive, and it was a little disappointing. The gravy was quite mild, had no spice or particular flavour, the meat could've been more tender, though it was served in good quantity. The roti was nice, not at all chewy/rubbery and yet quite soft. Finally, the Triple Schezwan Chicken Rice was served. It was decent, the schezwan sauce didn't overpower other ingredients. The rice was okay, not too dry, and had reasonable egg and meat in it. After another round of vodka we decided to wind up. To sum up then, New Punjab is more or less what you would expect from the "budget" kind of places. The food is a mixed bag, the alcohol is easy on the pocket, the service is fairly speedy but isn't polished (not surprising). It's an option worth considering on days you don't wish...

Im very frequent and regular to this place from almost a year now manager and all the staff members knows me well

But today it was very strange to ask me and my friends age for drinks like common this is not the way and i always seat by one corner every time so i was not comfortable with other seat so we decided to seat by that side only, but it was already booked so was waiting for them they were already clearing bill ( 2 female) and we changed our seatings

Few minutes later i called a waiter and asked about im a old customer why am i asking about my age and stuff they explained about the pune wala thing and i totally agreed amd took things in a fun way !! As im very straight forward in this thing

The other staff like they were young enough was behaving very cheap and felt quite uncomfortable they were staring me Nd my friend like there were also other girls too i didn’t found this comfortable

They should change there young staff i guess the old one are no doubt very good in all the things

So...

Delicious tandoori and paneer chilly.. We went for lunch here and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiters were attentive and service overall was good. The restaurant looked to have been recently decorated. Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back. Great food and service, would highly recommend...Went there on mothering Sunday... Everything perfect. Such friendly staff The server was friendly but inexperienced and botched our cold drinks. Food was promptly served and cooked to perfection. Outstanding!!!! Warm and welcoming surroundings. The choice of food is lovely. The portions they say are small, but 2 give a varied and very adequate meal. The cooking of every element was perfect. Chicken Tandoori and Chicken hot garlic should be tried here..
