PizzaExpress — Restaurant in Mumbai

We had been to this place 3 times now in hope that maybe last time there was some problem. But first we went the service was pathetic. I will give -10 to service and all the servers were unprofessional. We ordered grilled chiken salad, chicken was more of a boiled type. Pizza was ok. Second time when we went it was weekend so we thought maybe because of ruch service is slow as no one came to our table for almost 10 mins and we were very hungry so wanted to grab quick bite. When we ordered we informes them that we need to eat as we are hungry get something that u can make in 5 mins. No one came to us till next 15 mins. We kept waving our hands ...no one brothered so we left. Today when went again thinking that today is a week day afternoon so we will get a better service, inspite of place being empty service was again pathetic we were seating at two seat round table the place to keep dishes is small but while one big dish of chicken grilled salad was served there was place left for another. Still they got another which was Mushroom Butter garlic...but it's sad to say that Butter garlic mushrooms was yuck...it was watery it had uncooked onions n tomatos. No sign of GARLIC. I asked then is this really butter garlic mushrooms one lady server said yes this our recipe 🙄🥺. I had ordered Americano coffee they gave me Orange Juice..I mean...how is that even possible when there were only 3 occupied tables. The cooking staff was staring at people seating at the table 2 of the cooks tasted something cooking with their hands and viper the fingers on their appron. Our bill was 2400 something but we thought it was a complete waste. We don't mind spending that much but not for what we were served. So Food -10 marks Service -100...

Overall the experience was okay and it means it was just okay and nothing more than that. Concerns are on taste and on billing. Details follow:

Taste: I have a palette for spicy food - food that is spicy without sacrificing taste. So I ordered Spicy Chicken Pizza from the Signature series - and it was like having boiled chicken on pizza bread! I had to put oregano dressing so that I can down the stuff. Even Italians don't eat such bland stuff when they label a pizza as "spicy".

I had ordered Veg Crispies before the pizza. Actually it was potato crispies because there was nothing other than potatoes there. God knows why they called it veg crispy! The batter (possibly corn flour) made the potato wedges hard. The face saver was the orange coloured sauce that accompanied the wedges - and saved the izzat of the starter.

Bill: This was the really infuriating part - they have an entry called Staff Contribution (another name for Service Charge or Tips) and they shamelessly (without asking) add 10% in the bill under this head. So they are basically saying "I demand 10% tips!" Doing this takes nerve, I must say! This has taken customer service to an all-time low!!! I told them to remove it and paid the bill without the Staff Contribution. And added an amount in cash as tips - though the food didn't deserve any tip.

The only good thing - the ambience of the place is really good, quite befitting the mall and its own ambience.

Advice to all customers: Be very sure as to what you are ordering before ordering. Ask the serving executive clearly as...

My favourite pizza is margaritas buffalo for which i go several times in pizza express however everytime i get to experience one or the other issue.

1st- You keep calling the waiters they will not even look at you, and when they do whenever we ask for something they will not deliver like water, tissue etc 2nd - same pizza they delivered everytime differently. Sometimes soggy, sometimes overcooked, burnt and when u complain they say u should have given in detail 3rd - Today is 6th Aug, i asked bill without gst their manager wearing black shirt on main counter said not possible u have to give, when i told him i wont give as i always take bill without service charge but he rudely said u dont even listen leave i will remove and give, i was standing at the counter he didnt even apologised for his rude behaviour and was giving bad looks which made me feel worse that why did i even went to this place.
