During my multiple visits to Qutuz Irani Cafe, I unfortunately encountered some concerning issues. On two occasions, I felt that the staff attempted to overcharge me, although I believe it was an honest mistake. Moreover, I have noticed a decline in the quality of their food over time. However, what concerns me the most is the deteriorating hygiene standards. The presence of rodents and insects throughout the premises gives the impression that the place hasn't been cleaned in ages. It seems to have become more of a habitat for rats than a restaurant.
In the past, Qutuz Irani Cafe used to be a delightful culinary experience with excellent taste. I particularly enjoyed their chutney kebab. However, lately, the dish seems to be drowning in oil, compromising its flavor. I genuinely hope that the management takes immediate action to address all these issues.
Updated: In a recent visit, a piece of the false ceiling fell on me and my food, highlighting the urgent need for major renovations. The current state of the cafe is disheartening, and it is my sincere wish that they make necessary improvements to regain their...
Read moreThe only dish I enjoy having here is Bun Maska with Hot Milk. The Bun is really soft and fresh and goes well with the Hot Milk. Apparently the keey the Milk on hot boil throughout the day and that leads it to becoming dense and it gets a certain flavour with the constant heating. Wish they had charcoal grill as well. Would have loved to have these Bun-Maskas grilled over a charcoal fire. They have an option of Kadak Bun as well.
The Irani Tea is also reasonably good and reminds you of the good ol' days of having Tea in Irani Restaurants. As there are no Irani Restaurants in Western Suburbs of Mumbai, this is the closest you can come to of getting an Irani Chai in these parts of the town.
They have a Shawrama Counter and also a Counter for Chicken puffs and cutlets. There are some people who swear by the Bhurji-Pav served here as well as the Mutton Kheema-Pav. I have steered clear off these items as the place is utterly unhygienic and somehow food doesn't appease in such dismal surroundings. Also a huge dustbin just outside the Shop is a...
Read moreI would not recommend bringing along any woman or girl to this joint as this place is more frequented by foul mouthed rowdies and drunkards, who use the worst kind of filthy gutter type language. The attendants who are used to such kind of language, have also no manners in speaking to anyone civilized. Infact, I urge decent, civilized people to stay away from this place. Only reason this place is famous is because of the BPO crowd from nearby companies frequent this place, which is open late night and wee hours of the morning. Food quality is too spicy and and very oily. The Kebabs leave behind a weird sewage kind of aftertaste in your mouth for the entire day after eating it. Maybe its the extensive use of spices. Forget about ordering from ZOMATO or Swiggy or whatever, as if they have no stock, they'll just cancel the order and never update the food...
