THE BAR STOCK EXCHANGE - Bandra West — Restaurant in Mumbai

Bar Stock Exchange has the unique concept of alcohol rates fluctuating like in a stock exchange. However the range in which it fluctuates is not more than Rs 20-Rs 30 per drink which doesn't make too much of a difference. You would probably end up paying more service charge than the amount you save. While most levy service charge at 5 %, they charge double of it. The service though is their weakest part. An average order would take minimum 30 minutes to arrive. They took literally 20 minutes to just refill a pita bread. The food is pretty decent though. The only foundue they have is the misal-pav foundue (strangely no cheese, chocolate varieties) though it tastes very good. The bread pieces are perfectly toasted while the misal doesn't have the regular watery gravy consistency but a thick, creamy (perhaps cheesy) texture. Their mushroom chilly is a terrific starter with the mushroom seeming exactly like crispy manchurian while having the texture of a mushroom at the same time. They didn't have the Chinese boxes (at least the Bandra outlet didn't).The music gets louder as the evening progresses till a point that you can hardly hear what your friends are saying or literally have to scream...

This was an outing with recently graduated students.. TBSE was a hit back in the day- we were frequent visitors at the TBSE, Sakinaka, loved the ambience, food and the concept.. The success so many TBSE's around the city as well as someb other outlets with similar concepts. I was never a fan of this one Bandra west - the approach to the entrance is a bit shady.. And the building itself cries out for refurbishment. A dedicated elevator to the restaurants took us to the level 3, where we were directed to our table.. A central covered space flanked by terrace sitting on either side. Upon entering the central space there was a distinct pee smell.. It wasn't just me but the four of us who entered felt the same. However since this was an invite we let this one go and settled in... The familiar stock market style booze menu brought a smile to our face... It was mostly beers and few LIITs to begin with... LIIT were average.. Beers since ordered in bulk weren't as cold for the second round... And for some odd reasons the cooling of the air conditioner was below par.. Even after constant reminders.. Food was good... And service was...

The Bar Stock Exchange is located at Bandra West linking road and it serves a variety of continental, Asian, Italian and Mexican cuisine. The entrance has a huge larger than life door and it attracts a trendy crowd. Ambiance is good but there could be more brightness as I felt it was a little dim and I couldn't really capture good food pictures, lol not an excuse but really felt it was a bit dark had to on the flash 🔦 😁The outdoor seating is also good. They have both high and low seating chairs. The staff is decent and service was quick.

This is what I tried

Cajun Potato Wedges: 5*/5 Rs 220😍 Both the dips were awesome and the wedges were super delicious in taste perfectly seasoned, loved it.

Roasted Chicken and Mushroom Pizza: 5*/5 Rs 350😍 Fresh thyme, fried garlic and mozeralla. Really amazing in taste.
