Mizu in Bandra West is a delightful Japanese restaurant that truly brings an authentic taste of Japan to Mumbai. From the moment you walk in, the minimalist and elegant decor immediately transports you to a serene space, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience.

The menu at Mizu is thoughtfully curated, offering an impressive selection of sushi, sashimi, ramen, and other Japanese favorites. Each dish reflects a balance of flavors that showcase the high quality of ingredients and attention to detail. The sushi, in particular, is outstanding – fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The Tuna Tataki and Salmon Nigiri are absolute standouts, prepared to perfection.

For those who prefer something warm, the ramen bowls are comforting, rich, and deeply satisfying. The broths are flavorful, the noodles have the perfect bite, and the portion sizes are generous. Pair any of these with their house-made gyoza, and you're in for a treat!

The service at Mizu deserves a special mention. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu, eager to help you navigate the offerings, and always courteous. They enhance the dining experience with their attentiveness and genuine care.

Mizu also offers a great selection of sake, which pairs wonderfully with the meals and adds an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. Whether you're a lover of Japanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, Mizu is the perfect place to indulge.

For anyone looking for a culinary escape to Japan without leaving Mumbai, Mizu is the ideal spot. The combination of exceptional food, serene ambiance, and excellent service makes it one of the best dining...

Had dinner with friends on a Sunday night at 07.30 pm and got the table by reaching on time. All was going with our server, Vijay, until around 9.45 pm, when he served deserts and suddenly asked whether he should get the cheque (bill) cause his next set of guests were here. With the desert being served, it was matter of 10 to 15 mins till we were done, so it was unwarranted for Vijay to voice about the bill while serving the deserts as my guests found it offending that they were being kicked out. That's not a message any host wants his guests to have in an exclusive place like this. What was worst was the attitude of Danika, the Asst Manager, who instead of comforting us when we politely explained our discomfort, justified that the next set of guests were waiting. Such shallow behaviour of Danika after our meals were done was overshadowing the good food and efforts of the entire team at Mizu. Although I like the food and Vijay's service, because my guests were offended, they insisted I refrain from paying service charges although I wanted to. Although I like the food and spoke about getting my other group next week to this place, owing to Vijay's and Danika's attitude, I would stick to Izumi rather then getting my guests embarrassed here. If anyone is listening, ensure that your enterprise doesn't pay for the callous attitude of a few...

The food was great, I’d definitely recommend trying out this place and will come back again for the ramen which has been on my list. The seaweed salad was a refreshing appetizer - the consistency was exactly as expected and I loved the light flavors. The sushi rolls (pictured) were delicious with the perfect balance of flavors and crispiness. I didn’t personally try the gyozus because they have dairy but my friends gobbled them up and said they were amazing. I was happy with the variety of mushrooms in the stir fried mushrooms. While it was good, it was more on the indo-Japanese/Chinese side in terms of heavier sauce rather than authentic Japanese flavors. Lastly the vegan ice cream was good - the jaggery really comes through - though on the sweeter side for my liking. The service was good but not great. Since I don’t take dairy, they were really helpful in identifying dishes I could consume. But with the mix of dishes on the table, they took their time with confirming what dishes were ok for me and what weren’t. The ambience of the outdoor space on the ground floor was good - no mosquitoes and chillers kept the temperature cool. But we agreed to move upstairs to accommodate an elderly group that couldn’t walk up. And upstairs ambience wasn’t anything special but was uncomfortably cold.

Mizu has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Bombay. The vibe is super calming and minimal, with a beautiful setup that makes you want to just sit back and enjoy a long, relaxed meal. We ordered the salmon roll, prawn sushi, asparagus sushi, and both chicken and veg gyoza—and honestly, everything was incredible. The salmon roll was so fresh and perfectly balanced, and the prawn sushi had just the right amount of flavor without being overpowering. Even the asparagus sushi (which I wasn’t expecting much from) turned out to be a standout—super clean and fresh-tasting. The gyozas were spot on too—crispy on the bottom, juicy inside, and served with a dipping sauce that really tied it all together. You can tell they really care about the quality of ingredients and presentation. Drinks were great (highly recommend trying one of their signature cocktails), and the service was warm and helpful without hovering. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but for the quality of food, the ambiance, and the overall experience, I’d say it’s totally worth it. Already looking forward to going back!
