Read moreI have been a frequent visitor of Vrindavan, but not anymore. I was extremely hungry and was looking forward to a good north Indian meal. The first options that came to my mind were Hotel Vrindavan and Papa Pancho Da Dhaba. Since it was already past 4pm I was skeptical that Hotel Vrindavan would still be serving their lunch menu, so I called them to check what is available. The told me I would not get roti or sabji, but will get daal chawal and tava pulav. Since I wanted to have daal chawal I quickly made up my mind to go there . After, 20 mins of drive I finally got there. However, when I requested them to give me daal chawal I was told that the daal would be watery and it is better to take tava pulav. I was surprised by their response because on the phone there was no mention of the daal being watery. Still giving them the benefit of doubt, I requested them to show me how the daal looked so that I could decide. And that is when they came up with how it was against their policy to show what it looked like. I told them that I am a frequent customer and I had called them before coming. The manager at the front desk said he had no idea about who had answered my call. I once again attempted to explain the situation to him, but he decided to ignore my request and looked away pretending to be busy with other things. I had no choice but to walk away and no effort was made reconcile the difference. Finally I had to go to...
Read moreTL;DR: Poor wait staff and management. Talking loudly amongst themselves. Acting rude and abrupt with guests. Trying to push people to eat and leave despite not being too busy. Rather go to Krishna chayya which is 2 mins walk from here and much better service.
I went here to catch up with old college friends since we were all in town and this used to be a spot we'd visit during college times. Standard udipi restaurant but the service staff was a huge turn off and disappointing. We sat in the AC section and it wasn't too busy so we were hoping to hang for a bit. We were waiting for one of our friends but the staff kept standing by our table urging us to order. So we got tea. Then our friend arrived and since we're all visiting from abroad we wanted to have chaat. When we placed the order we got cold treatment from the wait staff (seemed like a senior staff member). The chaat was quite expensive too so not like we ordered a cheap dish. Once we finished the chaat they again came by trying push us to leave or order more. So we got a milkshake and tea to sip and chat. We wanted to get another dessert item like kulfi or something but they just brought us the final bill basically asking us to leave.
Extremely poor management. We didn't care to complain and just paid the bill and left.
The chaat itself was pretty good, the tea...
