Situated in Khar, this is a medium sized place with rustic + quirky, clean ambiance. Staff is EXCELLENT, their service was exemplary. They were constantly on their feet, explaining the dishes and suggesting best ones too. The menu has completely vegetarian Sindhi specialty dishes and I guarantee there is something to please everyone. No matter if your palate is more geared for saucy/ spicy/ sweet/ whatever flavors, here you will definitely find something delicious.
We started off with a round of beverages (PE-PE-PE)
THANDAI
KESAR LASSI
PAAN MILKSHAKE
All three were served chilled in nice glass bottles. And all three were TOO SWEET. Really, toooo sweet. PAAN MILKSHAKE was good with real drool-worthy paan flavor but KESAR LASSI especially was nauseatingly sweet. I am blessed with a sweet jaw but my mom and sister are not at all sweet lovers and they could not finish the drinks, so I helped them finish the bottles :P They should really look into the sweetness level of the beverages.
Later on, we had NIMBU PAANI and MASALA CHAAS. Both were perfect. No complaints.
Coming to food, we had something from each section-starter (NASHTO), Main course (KHADO) and loved each one-
BHEEYAN JI TIKKI- Lotus Stem croquettes with Sindhi Green Masalas topped with tangy Lotus Stem chips, was decently spiced, flavorful, LOVED.
SOYA KEBAB- Soya mince slow cooked with Sindhi flavors, really liked it for the simple fact that I generally am not a big fan of soya mince, I like soya granules but minced soya somehow is not too attractive to me but this Kebab was wonderful, be it in terms of texture or flavor, it was DELICIOUS.
ARBI TUK- Arbi or Taro Root flattened, fried, made crisp (while remaining soft inside) and topped with some masalas, served with in-house dips, both tangy-sweet + minty-spicy, LOVED by all. Simple yet delicious.
DAL PAKWAN- Chana Dal cooked in Sindhi masala, served with authentic Sindhi crispy flat bread, accompanied with Coriander and Tamarind Chutneys, MUST-HAVE. Make a complete layer of flat bread at bottom and pile up chole + chutneys on top and have it all together to feel the explosion of flavors.
CHOLE PATTICE- Chatpata Chana Dal pattice served with Sindhi Chole and Pav, another wonderful amalgamation of flavors. There is spiciness but not too much, there is a bit of tanginess, there are carbs and protein and masalas...another MUST-HAVE. Won't change a single thing about it.
After this, we were a bit confused on what to order so we were suggested to try their UNLIMITED THALI and we loved it to bits. It has all the best dishes from the menu and is completely value for money for quality + quantity.
The Thali came with-
ROSE SHERBET (Welcome drink), felt like Rooh Afza, not very sweet, refreshing,
SANNA PAKODA- Sindhi version of bhajiyas, good,
ALOO TUK- Sindhi famous fried & flattened baby potatoes, crisp outside, soft inside, lovely,
RASWALE ALOO- Sindhi style potatoes in tomato based mildly spicy gravy, decent,
BOONDI RAITA- Cooling, utterly delicious boondi in dahi, dahi was excellent, not sour at all,
BHINDI BASAR- Deep fried okras in onion-tomato base, good with phulkas,
SINDHI CURRY- Vegetables cooked in tempered tomato-besan curry, tangy, must-have with rice,
SAI BHAAJI- Seasonal greens and veggies slow cooked to perfection, must-have,
BHUGA CHAWAL- Sindhi special rice cooked with caramelized onions and spices, delicious,
PAPAD
PHULKA
PURI
STEAMED RICE
Best thing about this Thali- Authentic Sindhi flavors, No extra oil-butter used, Simple homely flavors, unexpectedly loved this :)
For desserts, we tried and loved (MEETHO)-
SINGHAR JI MITHAI - Special Sindhi sweet, also known as Sev Barfi, very calorific and unique, MUST-HAVE here,
GULAB JAMUN - Soft gulab jamuns soaked in sweet syrup, garnished with almond bits, good.
This hungry hippo happily recommends Juss By Sindhful to everyone. I am so thankful to them for bringing the best of Sindhi cuisine to public at large. Make this your next dining...
Read moreJust by Sindhful is located at Khar, where all the possible food joints are located. Specialising in Sindhi cuisine, they have created a name for themselves and have become popular with their authentic cuisine. The ambience is amazing. As we entered, the place was well lit with yellow lights. The was seating below as well as a mezzanine floor with about 2 tables on top. The walls were painted beautifully with large frames of painted women in beautiful Indian attire. Once we enter in, one side of the wall had all these thalis which had sindhi words written on them. Terms they usually use. from the ceiling hung these beautiful coloured lamps with were pretty eye catchy. Definite the kind of place where there is a lot to see.
Off the Menu : - Beverages/ Pe-Pe-Pe Pink Guava Cooler : Totally fell in love with this. Refreshing and of high quality. Loved the glass milk shaped bottles as well.
Thandai : Amazing Drink. Will definitely give you an authentic feel.
Starters/Namkeen : Tikra Sindhi Wafers These were delightful starters which were thin and crisp and made out of sindhi phulkas which are fried and topped with masalas, served with green chutney.
Kicha Papad I think when this came at the start, this was all i was munching on. Totally different kind, with that crispy softness. Totally loved it! These are made of Rice flour and served with Chutney.
Starters/Nashto : Sanna Pakoda These are sindhi styled bhajiyas which are double fried to crispy and served with imli chutney. Totally loved these !
Bheeyan Ji Tikki These were adorable to even look at. Perfect Heart shaped tikkis served with green chutney. This is something that has to be ordered here. Totally Recommendable.
Mains/Khado Dal Pakwan Dal Pakwan is a sindhi delicacy which is loved everywhere. It is basically chana dal cooked in sindhi masala, served with sindhi crispy flat bread, which kind of softens with the dal and this dish comes along with coriander and tamarind chutney. W definitely went head over heels for this one.
Sindhi Thali So this Sindhi Thali was humoungous and came with about 14 varieties of food in it. Totally loved the way it was neatly presented. Along with this i would also like to mention that their hygeine is of top notch quality. The thali was unlimited at a price of 399 (tuesday offer) in which only the sweet dish is limited.
The Thali comprised of : Sanna Pakoda: Totally loved these these in the starters. Aloo Tuk : Aloo Bhajiyas which were crisp on the outer layer and soft within Bhindi Basar : Bhindi bhaaji, went so well with the phulkas provided. Sindhi Curry : a lovely must try delicacy, a must try again with rice or phulkas. Sai Bhaji : this happened to be a mixture of alot of veggies made into one bhaji. loved the final outcome of it. Steamed Rice : went well with the sindhi curry. Bhuga Chawal : a kind of sindhi pulav with veggies. Sindhi Papad : fried papad to go as a sider. Boondi Raita : went so well with the bhuga chawal. Gave a complete feeling of biryani. Puri : soft and freshly made puris went well with the sai bhaji. Phulkas : totally loved the fluffiness of it. Gulab Jamun : an end to a completely amazing meal. This dessert completely complimented the meal in the best way possible. Rose Sharbat : a refreshing rose syrup drink which helped us wash down the heaps of food we consumed.
As this was the first time i experienced sindhi food, i can say that it was definitely the best experience i could ever have. From the food, to the concept, the ambience, the service. Everything was amazing and something i will always remember by.

Sindhi Maani, Sutthi Maani. (Maani means food) This is what I have believed in since childhood being partially Sindhi. The delicacies and majority of the dishes prepared and consumed by Sindhis are delicious and comforting always. They're never heavy on spices nor on your stomach.
So recently I visited Juss By Sindhful to pamper and enlighten my Sindhi food tastebuds. It is located at Khar and functions in the afternoon and night. Juss believes in serving authentic Sindhi food but with a twist of contemporary taste. They welcome you to enjoy scrumptious Sindhi delicacies.
They have an entire Sindhi cuisine menu comprising Nasto, Khado, Thali and desserts.
The service was good. My intention to visit Juss was only to relish the Thali but the server insisted me to atleast try a starter and I'm glad i did. The service was good.
The interiors are simple and modest and family perfect.
What I Drank?
THANDAI
No aerated drinks or mojitos. The best of all I had Thandai. It was lovely to begin.
What I Ate?
I tried 2 pieces of the two starters mentioned below
PAKWAN CHAAT
This is basically the sindhi pakwan topped with curd and chutneys. It's crisp and different from what we eat on a regular basis.
BHEEYAN JI TIKKI
These are lotus stem croquettes cooked with masalas and topped with crispy fried lotum stem chips and served with chutney. Lotus stem is popularly called "Kamal Kakdi."
THALI
And then I ordered for my thali which is a wide spread. It's an unlimited thali priced at Rs 450 in which you get everything unlimited apart from dessert.
This thali basically has Rose Sharbat, Sana pakoda, Aloo Tuk, Sai Bhaji, Daran ji sabji, Bhindi basar, Sindhi Curry, Raswala aloo, Papad, Phulka, Puri, Rice, Bhuga chawar, Boondi Raita. The meal ends with dessert which is either gulab jamun or kheer.
The thali is good, it's a huge spread for one to indulge into. But there are certain things I would like to mention. The gravies were very much dominated with excessive taste of tomato. (Daran ji sabji and sai bhaji) Being a partially Sindhi, I have grown up eating these dishes. The aloo tuk is what you must definitely hog and sana pakodas. Also, when i had a small chat with the servers, I got to know that the same dishes are served everyday. There should be atleast some moderation in the thali everyday by substituting a dish or two atleast. Options should be used like bhee patata (lotus stem and potato), vangan patata (brinjal and potato), tidali dal (three mix lentil) and some more dishes like these. There can be a variation of papad with khicha, gulab jamun with seero, koki instead of normal roti or dahi vada instead of dahi boondi so that people get different taste and variety every time they visit. The thali is perfect the way it is currently served, but if I wish to visit again it would be really delightful to indulge into some different dishes rather than the ones I tasted on my previous visit and this is pretty much important for the regular visitors. Juss is the only place I have visited and had a Sindhi thali. It is very uncommon to get a Sindhi Thali.
DESSERT
SINGAR
The bestest sindhi sweet to die for is singar mithai. Loved the one served here too.
So you must give this place a try. All those who haven't explored Sindhi food should definitely visit Juss by Sindhful and enjoy...
