Here’s a peek into The Habitat, a highly creative and cozy live-performance café in Khar West, Mumbai:

Vibe & Ambience

A warm and laid-back space that blends casual dining with a thriving artsy vibe. It’s well known for hosting creative expressions—stand-up comedy, open-mic nights, poetry, improv, indie film screenings, and even music jams.(Whats Hot, Tripadvisor, Worldorgs India) The venue includes two performance areas: a 65-seater on the first floor and a larger 175-seater on the fourth floor, both equipped with a recording studio for audio and video capture.(Tripadvisor)

Entertainment & Creative Platform

Regularly hosts Art events—comedy, poetry, music, theatre, workshops—making it a hub for budding performers.(Tripadvisor, Worldorgs India) As one local user put it:

“More known for its platforms for budding artists than its food. Hold open-mic events often, for poets, singers, comedians and variety artists. Small, cosy place.”(Worldorgs India)

Food & Menu

Serves a blend of Continental, North Indian, Chinese, café-style, and fast food. Popular dishes include kebabs, pasta, countryside lasagne, cold sandwiches, tapas, and pav sliders.(Whats Hot) Also features a bar offering alcoholic beverages—a perfect pairing for your show.(Whats Hot, Tripadvisor)

Convenient location next to Khar Road station—easy to find and access.(Wikipedia) Multicuisine eatery with bar options—good for a relaxed evening out.

Considerations

Just a feedback for the Habitat support staff/managers/owners : did visit Habitat this past weekend to watch 'India's Got Latent' the show was amazing and I personally did not had any issues with seating / food / arrangements.

My only issue was the lady sitting at the front desk verifying the tickets, she was rude and disrespectful - being in the service industry her unpleasant behaviour was uncalled for. to give you context, we walked in the venue and wanted to check in on the show, so we politely inquired about the same and her response was 'udhar jaa ke khade reh, m bulaungi tab aana' in a very aggresive tone.

not just me, multiple people faced same response and most of us did not respond back but the winner of the last 'India's Got Latent' show did respond back and asked her to please speak politely, so not necessarily everyone would just take this uncalled rude attitude.

I understand that she might be irritated and done responding to same question from multiple people again and again that doesn't give you the right to be rude and disrespectful. No one is asking the lady to smile but at least be polite, after paying for the tickets and travelling for 1.5/2 hours for the show this was not cool.

After a busy stressful week people plans to watch their fav comic and relieve the stress but incident like this just ruins your entire experience. I'm sure many people might have complained about it but it takes nothing to be kind and polite.

@TheHabitatMumbai please give the lady a raise but please ask her to be...

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price We booked a room at Habitat Hotel for around ₹3300, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The room was in pathetic condition — the AC was not working properly, the ambience was dull, and the overall vibe was very uncomfortable. Hygiene was clearly not a priority: the bedsheets were dirty, the room felt unclean, and everything appeared poorly maintained. To add to the discomfort, the lock on the door was not proper, which made us feel unsafe during the stay. For the amount we paid, this is absolutely unacceptable. A basic standard of cleanliness, comfort, and security should be expected, but unfortunately, none of that was met here. I would not recommend this place unless major improvements are made in cleanliness, maintenance, and guest safety.
