Ordered this afternoon through porter. The delivery person waited more than half an hour while we were told it will only take 10 minutes. Even the wait is okay, however when the order came, itâs completely messed up. When I called the restaurant to place the order, spoke to couple people and explained clearly that I wanted 2 garlic masala dosa and 1 onion capsicum idli, 1 rasam along with extra sambar on the side and extra white coconut chutney. The person who took the order said okay to everything that he will follow all the instructions. The person didnât mention if there will be any extra charges or if he couldnât accommodate something. Sad part is when the food arrived, thereâs no white coconut chutney separately on the side nor the extra sambar. If you look at the plate, Sambar is not even filled properly. How am I suppose to heat this up if I wanted to or how am I able to eat a whole dosa with this quantity. Almost paid 800 Rs for this. Called the restaurant and they said that I explained the other person and the answer was sorry and not to write a bad review. I am sorry but your sorry doesnât do anything because our lunch and money are both ruined. I paid you guys for food which is waste for me and I paid separate charges to the porter. This doesnât look like a 1000 Rs meal. I would like to know what the restaurant manager has to say on this because sorry isnât doing anything and neither the idea of the restaurant person to come bring the food back because thatâs another waste of time and money. Why would I porter in the first place if I had to go there. This is really bad, I wouldnât recommend anyone to order delivery from here. And hopefully the higher authority / person would look at this and be able to provide a solution. This is literally stealing from people by charging the full amount and not giving them whatâs expected. I have never complained to a restaurant about quantity but this is unacceptable. 0 instructions were followed and the service over the phone was ridiculous. If you canât follow or honor something donât say yes to it just to get the order. Very bad experience, I would never order again from here. I would like to give 0 stars to the place for following instructions and service and serving...
Read moređ Amudham â A Slice of Southern Comfort in Delhi I recently visited Amudham, a well-known Bangalore-origin restaurant that has now made its mark in Delhi, and I have to sayâitâs a treat for anyone who loves authentic South Indian flavors with a touch of indulgence.
đ˝ What I Tried:
Ghee Podi Masala Dosa â Crisp on the outside, soft inside, with a generous coating of aromatic podi (spiced lentil powder) and a heavenly drizzle of ghee. The masala filling was perfectly seasoned, and every bite felt like comfort food taken up a notch. Ghee Podi Thatte Idli â Fluffy, plate-sized idli soaked with warm ghee and podi. The texture was cloud-like, and the flavor was deep, nutty, and addictive. Tossed Ghee Pudina Shavige â This was a refreshing twistâthin vermicelli lightly tossed with mint and spices, finished with ghee for richness. A unique, light-yet-flavorful dish. Andhra Thali â A colorful spread of tangy, spicy, and wholesome Andhra specialties. From the fiery pappu (dal) to the bold gunpowder chutney, every element had a distinct personality. The ghee on the rice was the final soul-satisfying touch. ⨠Ambience & Service: The interiors carry a clean, modern touch while still keeping the warmth of a traditional South Indian eatery. Service was prompt and courteousâstaff knew the menu well and helped guide the choices. đĄ Final Verdict: If youâre in Delhi and craving authentic ghee-kissed South Indian fare that still feels fresh and exciting, Amudham is a must-visit. Itâs not just about eating hereâitâs about experiencing the depth of South Indian culinary traditions in every bite.
Rating: ââââ½ (4.5/5) â For the flavors, freshness, and the sheer joy of their...
Read more3/5 Stars - A Mixed Experience at Cafe Amudham
Visited Cafe Amudham with my family, and while the experience was pleasant, the food had some inconsistencies. The ghee podi thatte idli was nice, but the podi masala tasted sweet, unlike the authentic version I'm used to. The vada was crispy and served with a nice pepper and coconut chutney, which was a highlight.
The dosas were a mixed bag - the garlic masala dosa had a nice spicy kick with a burnt onion flavor, but the benne masala dosa's butter didn't melt properly. The podi masala dosa suffered from the same sweet podi masala issue.
The biggest letdown was the sambhar, which was sweet and not what I expected. When I mentioned it to the staff, they seemed unapologetic about it being their standard preparation.
On the bright side, the filter coffee was excellent and a must-try. The staff were polite and nice, which made the experience more pleasant.
Highlights:
Crispy vada with pepper and coconut chutney Filter coffee is a must-try
Improvement Areas:
Podi masala's sweetness needs to be adjusted Sambhar's sweetness was off-putting Benne masala dosa's butter melting could be improved
Overall: A decent spot for South Indian cuisine, but with some inconsistencies in taste and preparation. With a bit of tweaking, Cafe Amudham could be a great spot for a...
